Q: We have clutter like the shed, playground and bricks that my mother does not want to remove. Also, we have weeds growing and tons of branches so I don't know what to do. Let alone, my mother keeps on saying landscaping is needed but she very rarely asks for a person to cut the grassand we don't have the budget to cut our two tall trees.
Bundle the branches up and tie them with string, put out with the trash if you confirm your trash removal company accepts yard waste. Once they are gone, a good raking to remove leaves and dead grass using a lawn rake, bag them up and get rid of them. Tidy up the bricks and any loose items you want to keep and stack behind the shed if possible. Once all the yard is clean, look at any high or low spots, get a few bags of topsoil from Home Depot ( $1.29 a bag) , some grass seed, and a small bag of starter fertilizer. The cost should be under $50 for everything. Use the soil in low spots, and then sprinkle the grass seed and starter wherever there is a bald spot and in the new topsoil. Water lightly but often, the idea is to wash the oily covering off the seed, but not wash the seed away. Keep it moist for a week and you will have new grass growing. Follow the directions on the seed package for proper lawn care once up.
Q: my parents bought a house and we will rebuild it but first we like to see new designs of house in and out. new designs of the most expensive houses you'll see and would want to live in but you cant because you cant afford it..houses like in florida or new jersey.those nice big huge houses they show in mtv cribs. celebirty houses
I get the Home and Garden magazine and almost all of the house, bedrooms, kitchens, etc... in the mag are VERY high end. Search their website and then go to MTV cribs online. When you see something you like I'm sure the designers name will be posted somewhere on the page. Look him or her up online because chances are they'll have some of there work in other homes posted. Print or save as you see what you like and compile a folder of the things you really like one room at a time. Then go back through it and find your favorites or combine a few ideas together for something unique.
Q: What is a good home remedy for bugs in the Garden and Lawn.

Q: I want to grow and sell vegetables from my garden in orange county Ca. All the farmers markets I have looked at are for certified farmers. How could I sell my produce with out being a certified farmer?
You should have to grow for your own use first and some of them you should gift to some of your friends or neighbors. So in this way you can get the experience of veg. growing and taking care of too. During this time you can search the best veg. market to sell them out. if you can get more than enough results then you should think for commercial point of view. Best of Luck
Q: What do/did you want to be when you grew/grow up?
all i want is to be happy =]
Q: Years ago in the magazine Better Homes and Gardens, a twin sized quilt appeared. It was shaped like a doll with arms and legs that hung over the sides of the bed. The head rested on the pillow. Somehow my magazine got thrown out from my stash. It was so cute!
Try okorder If you can't find it there...ask the question by sending an email! Good Luck!
Q: Some part of my home garden is covered with ground covering plants (some type of ivy with networked roots). The garden is full of weeds and small trees. If I use Preen or other type of chemicals, can I get rid of weeds? I'm thinking removing all the ground covering and weeds, and cover the area with mulch. If there is a way to have ground covering with weeds well controlled, I may try it. I appreciate your input.
The advice from mediator is a reliable ideas-set. I moved right into a clean residing house in 2007 on an internet site which became initially farm land and became ripe with an excellent variety of organic international. I sprayed with Roundup and after some weeks whilst the weeds had died off I set out the climate for grass, borders, vegetable plot and lined the soundness with membrane and then with pebbles to maintain that section as low maintenance. you are able to continually shrink sections and plant timber or shrubs to furnish greater activity. I even have better the vegetable plot using old recovered railway sleepers to set out the bays and this has labored out o.k.. Now in the 2nd year and robust vegetation so far...... tastes lots greater suitable than from the shops.
Q: Well... I have never been to USA.. But I have a dream to settle my life in any beautiful city of USA.. I always like nice architectural homes with beautiful gardens and nice maintained roads.. So in which city in america can I find these?
Charleston, SC Beautiful houses from the 1850-1900 era - Civil War... Architecture, gardens... Will get you dreaming of the past -
Q: When I'm older, this is the kind of lifestyle I want to live (food wise) with this being mainly what I eat.I'm sure my other family members would eat from other sources besides what we would have there, but if not, could a large garden and hen coop of say 6 hens keep a family of 4 full every day? (I've never had a garden before but am definitely going to in the future, insight please.)
Yes, it is, if you have enough land. I have a book that discusses doing exactly that. If you have 1/4 acre for garden and animals, and cultivated that garden properly so it produces as much as possible, you could probably get pretty close. Easier with more land, of course. You might want a few more hens. If you want to learn more about it, google self-sufficiency from a garden. Keep in mind that in most climates, you can't grow food year-round so must preserve it in some way to eat in the off-season.
Q: Pretty much just trimming the bushes, fertilizing the lawn, pest control, and identifying and knowing what to do with annuals and perennials?Just bought a new house and there are a lot of little bushes and small trees. No big trees though since the house is only six years old.Can you advice me on a good general book?Thank you
Better Homes Gardens has a pretty good basic guide. I bought mine at either Lowes or Home Depot several years ago. It covers plant identification, basic lawn care, pruning, soil amendment, etc. But another choice is contacting your local Cooperative Extension office and talking to a Master Gardener. They will probably have booklets and materials for your specific part of the country. This is a free service. If you can't find a listing, try searching under extension services or master gardener for your state and county.
