Q: I currently get Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies Home Journal. I like recipes and articles on decorating. Any other good magazines?
How about Real Simple? You can go to their website and get a trial issue to see if you like it.
Q: Is this even possible and what kind of plants would I use?
Yes, I would plant sturdy flowers that don't require much maintenance, such as lily of the valley or day lillys A few Alberta spruce trees might be good, too. Hostas would be good, too.
Q: I was wondering if it was okay to grow something small to begin with, on a bed? not on the floor, because i have dogs, and i know they will get in my garden and becausue if i plant them on a bed it will be easier for me to take care of the plants. and easier for me to get rid of the insects. is it expensive to do this? or am i better of buying my own fruits and vegetables? I live in Los Angeles, CA in the city. and was wondering what would be the best time to plant. and finally are there any good books you recommend, and any tips? thank you for your time.
the best thing to grow is some dank weed its good for u
Q: There are a lot of little projects that I would like to do in my home. It was my mother-in-law's home so I would be able to know the history going back 30 years. How should I prioritize the following projects (especially if we plan on living in the home between 5-10 years)?-9 Replacement Windows (currently very drafty single-pane, wood frames) -A friend mentioned that the home's insulation may be shot (not sure) would this be a better investment than windows?-Bathroom (sq. footage unknown but not very large, I would say 8ftx6ft space includes sink/tub/toilet small built-in cabinet)-Kitchen (again, sq. footage unknown but cabinets are 30+ years old and there are only 3 lower cabinets, 2 small drawers and very little counter space)-Landscaping
I'd say immediately have the windows replaced with vinyl framed double glazed Low-E -- that's the biggest energy waster. Next, I'd say blow more attic insulation -- up to about R 38 in the South and about R 48 up north, if there's room in the attic. Walls are important, but not nearly as important as windows and ceiling insulation. Landscaping can be done pretty much all year long, as long as the ground isn't frozen -- trees and shrubs transplant best in about Feb here in TX. Kitchen and bath -- ask wifey, she'll know that answer.
Q: I am planning to get a home spa. Any tips about which one to buy?
Raji, go visit a Home Garden Show, which are plentiful in California and along the westcoast. There you find exhibits of so many spa dealers, that they literally fall over each other.
Q: I had someone repair my car at his home in Garden Grove, CA, he said he has applied for licensing and this is his quot;shopquot;. HE TOTALLY ripped me off with the repairs, they weren't done properly argued constantly w/ his mechanic. They were supposed to finish the job (I took my car home after 6 days of this bs with the generator light on just to get it out of there) he told me to order the parts to finish it, I did, Sat. I get a call later in the day on my cell that he and his mechanic are fighting that mechanic won't be doing it at all. Next day I get a call and he tells me that he doesn't owe me any thing and will only fix 1 item, he did not give me a written estimate before hand and wanted me to sign in 2 places an invoice that also stated he gave me an estimate, of course this is all after I paid him (just to get the car away from him). I refused now I know he is endangering a disabled person by doing a conversion on his car, this man mechanics are maniacs. HELP!
you,ll have to check the zoning laws in your area ,chances are it may be legal for him to do this, not all mechanics are bad though, there are a lot of good ones also, just a few that are like this, good luck.
Q: I want to build a botanical garden in the town I live in, it will be a private land that is not for profit company and open to public for a few dollars. What are resources I can use to get me started on the research for this project, remember its large scale so small garden info isn't that useful.I have found lots of gardening design/plant/etc info but its all for small scale, I am going to be building a several acre garden. What considerations should I think about? How much space? What plants?Legal issues? What about designs, information on design of large scale parks?
That's okorder . Though the site can't replicate the feeling and smells of visiting a garden in person, it aims to be great venue for sharing inspiration and specific designs. The site features web-based home and landscape design software. The goal of the site is to eventually put together thousands of quality garden designs and provide the tools for people to design their own homes and gardens.
Q: Where can I find information about home gardening in the US?

Do you want to do greenhouse gardening, rockgardens, vegetablegardens or flowergardens?Theres an immense opportunity.Just narrow down your question and maybe we can help you.
Q: grown by people at homes in their patios or gardens?
1) In homes, patios or gardens people in Spain can grow many Citrus fruits like we do. Dwarf varieties that are protected from cold in winter. 2) Spain is the main E.U producer of tropical and subtropical fruit and the only country on the continent itself currently capable of growing them. As consolidated crops, Spain produces avocados (over 10,000 ha planted, yielding some 70,000 t/year), bananas (production restricted to the Canary Islands; around 9,500 ha, of which some 3,000 are under greenhouse, yielding 420,000 t/year), and cherimoyas (roughly 3,000 ha and 33,000 t/year). Mangos (almost 1,400 ha) and papaya (around 200 ha, practically all under greenhouse) show great potential for future development. Pineapple is steady at around 75 ha, both in open air and greenhouse plantations and, again, limited to the Canary Islands. Experimental plantings of litchi show good prospects. Minor crops under evaluation include carambola and guava. A review of the actual situation, problems and prospects, as well as the main lines of research, is highlighted in this paper.
Q: This guy said 23 scarecrows is good for a home garden which he said on my quot; how many scarecrows is ideal quot; and he said 23 is he right?
I certainly have tried almost each thing customary to mankind to maintain the critters out of my backyard. ultimately, I gave up and larger the size of my backyard so there is adequate for the two them and me. the only critter I nonetheless combat with is the deer and that i've got found that Liquid Fence stinks to extreme heaven, yet while utilized on a known foundation will save the deer out of the backyard.
