You can use the other methods described below, and they may help, but the real answer is excercise and then more exercise. You say she has plenty but how much is that? My Boxer is the same way when she does not get to run or go for a long walk. I come home to find she has taken things (like today was a package of curtains, the last time it was a picture frame) out into the yard to play with, even though she has a Cocker Spaniel as a playmate and can go in and out of the house into a large fenced in yard! She can run for an hour or go for a 4.5 mile walk and then run some more. I try to give her a run every day, but can't always do it now that it's getting darker earlier, so I play ball with her on the stairs. Boxers are high energy dogs, and it sounds like yours is finding ways to release some of it. She may also need mental stimulation - teach her the find it game. Hide small tidbits around the room while she is in another one. Bring her near the first one and say find it. Keep working with her a little each day until she knows what find it means. My dog can be told to find specific things, she knows how to find her basketball, soccer ball, bone, hoofie, Dad, etc. I'm planning next to teach her how to pull a cart - that should keep her busy, and a dog with a job is a happy one. Q: With the movement to plant gardens in the backyard, I am concerned about what else might be in the dirt besides what is beneficial for plants to grow. I am concerned about toxins from wolmanized wood from outdoor structures and residential pesticide that neighbors tend to overuse. I am worried that a lot of this nasty stuff washes from yard to yard in heavy rains.I suspect that the first thing I need to do is to have the soil checked to actually see what's in there, not only for toxins, but recommendations for any deficiencies in minerals and nutrients.What's the best way to start, and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.: I have the same sort of concerns about eating vegetables grown in the back yard. In addition to the toxins that you mentioned, there is the possibility of additional contamination from deteriorating sewer lines and whatever is washed off the roads during a rainstorm. You can have the soil tested at an environmental testing laboratory, but you will have to tell them what you are testing for. If your are testing for chemicals, they may ask you for the CAS numbers. I figure that things grown above the ground are safer -- eg. fruit from trees, grapes from grapevines, bramble berries, etc. Also, it would be safer if you used raised bed gardening. You could do this by piling up dirt into small hills for planting. Start a compost bin for your vegetable scraps, leaves, grass, and brown matter like cardboard in order to make compost to add to your garden . This also helps the soil. I once called the agriculture department in my state to ask about the kind of concerns you have about a home garden, but I didn't get a responsive answer.

Q: suggested category...Home and Garden....pffff!: When we moved into our house, I could tell there was negative energy hanging around, especially at the end of the hallway where the bedrooms are. On the main bedroom there was a small mirror on the outside of the door. On removal, we found fist sized holes in the door. I also found an 8x10 picture of the previous owner's daughter on an upper shelf of the closet. I got rid of all evidence of the previous owner. I also placed small quartz crystals on top of the door sills. The points are all pointing out of the hallway. They all point in the same direction. I also hung a round faceted leaded crystal from the light fixture in the center of the area. This area is like a vortex in which all the negativity swirled around. The crystals point the way out and the faceted crystal helps consolidate the negative energy so that it flows out of the area. It really helped. My adult son thinks it's malarkey, but I can feel it worked. You can also burn some sage in the house to purify the home. Sage is used like incense. It just smolders and the smoke purifies.

Q: How to modest your garden with furniture?: I think my dream home would have at least 4 rooms (minimum): 1. Master bedroom - Nice and big 2. Office 3. Extra bedroom for guests 4. Kids room I am about to have one child, but should I want another, then I'd need at least 5 rooms. And the house HAS to have a spacious kitchen for cooking up gourmet meals. I'm not too much into themes, but my wife LOVES mediterranean styles, so I imagine that would be a running theme throughout the house. Personally, I just enjoy putting up my photography from our vacations together.
