What are the materials?
Our rattan furniture is woven by hand with environment-friendly PE rattan on strong powder-coated metal or aluminum structure with soft cushions and pillows. The cushions are usually replaceable and washable.

- Q: We already have a fabric (slate blue color) recliner that is only about 6 yrs old, perfect condition that we have no intention (at this time) of replacing.With this new tax refund MAYBE coming this summer ($2100 WHOOOO HOOOO) I would like to replace our sofa/love seat. We have never had our own and this one is shot. I haven't told my husband of my desire yet but I figure if we spend 1/2 and save 1/2 on something we are putting into the house :) Anyway. Since our recliner is staying and it's fabric, we should probably not even look at leater as it wouldn't go. Correct? Or is mixing pieces ok? I'm not sure about leather w/ little ones either. Does the soft plushy type of leater scratch easily? Also..if we went w/ fabric, we should probably go w/ the slate blue color as close to the recliner as possible, yes? Or would going w/ a tan/darker tan/khaki color not look right? Our carpet is tan.
- You could get leather, as leather will go with anything. However, there are a lot of styles and qualities of leather sofas. If you have a lot of kids and pets, I would wait on the leather. Go to a furniture store and look at what they have. Most stores have a designers section where you can check out fabric samples. I would suggest getting a durable fabric with a high # rating that will last for years and... get one that is in a print with lots of different colors (easier to hide spills and stains).
- Q: My sofas are really comfortable and they are in good condition. I don't want to spend a lot of money to buy any new ones. They used to be my parents.. so I do not like the pattern or the color. They are reclining sofas. Where can I get a cover for them?? Anybody have any experience doing this? Thanks in advance.

- Q: Hi I was giving a beautiful sofa today and was gonna use it in the only space available which is an empty upstairs bedroom the only problem is it wont fit threw the hallway vertically and theirs a wall in the way of the door entranceso the only option i have is to try to get it threw the window in the room which both panes open inward so theirs more than enough space, the problem is how would i go about doing this?i'm thinking there is more than enough space to put a few ladders to the window with rope on the top tied down so it doesnt slip back wrapping the sofa in pad liners tieing rope around it and halling it upIs there an easier way to do this task without hiring someone to do it for me for $300? thanksbtw its on the backyard side of the house so i cant hire someone with a crane

- Look for frames that are made with a combination of hardwoods or engineered wood that are assembled with mortise and tenon joint construction, glue and tacking. This will ensure superior quality in the internal structure and longevity of the furniture. Corner blocks annd support blocks give additional strength and durability. Seat foundations should be constucted with either 8 way hand tied spring seating, heavy guage sinuous wire or synthetic webbing. Foundations should be connected together by cross wires to provide leveled support and superior comfort. Back foundations should feature heavy guage sinuous wire support as well. Double layers of springs should be used on all arm ends to reinforce strength in that area. Springs and clips used throughout construction should be coated with a protective finish to prolong the longevity of the sofa. Seat cushions should have high density foam cores wrapped with layers of feather/down blends and then fiber. This will provide longevity and a beautiful crown to give the ultimate in seating comfort and durability. Fabrics should meet tests recommended by the American Society for Testing and Materials to ensure seam strength, wearability and stretch tolerance. Upholstering of fabrics to frames should consist of an application that coordinates both horizontal and vertical pattern to ensure a finished design. Fine, quality furniture manufacturers offer warranties on upholstered pieces. They should cover the life of the original fabric on the frame to be free of defect or workmanship. Seat backs and spring constructions should also be warranted. Cushioning and padding materials should be warranted agains loss of resiliency under normal household use at least for a period of five years. Seam separation, shrinkage, dye transference, fabric failure and failure to provide normal wear and tear should also be covered.
- Q: I found a leather sofa for sale online that is brand new. The owner is selling it because they are moving and during the process of putting it into storage the back of the sofa was ripped. The tear is about four inches long. If I am getting a good price on the sofa is it worth purchasing? Can the leather be repaired cost efficiently?
- A rip certainly can be fixed, its what kept me in business for the last 11yrs ;-) You can go to a professional ( 4 inches is a long rip for a first timer) to have it repaired, or have the panel replaced. To give you an idea a rip like that might cost $275 or so to fix and the panel around $375. So if the piece is a quality piece ( all leather, no vinyl, not bycast) it could b worth while. Companies like mine can custom match difficult leather if your local upholsterer can get a match- we refinish leather to a sample you send

- If you can remove the cushion covers and wash them in cold water, that is best. If you can't, a steam cleaning would be next best if they aren't feather. You can hire a carpet cleaning place and they can do it in your home or you can rent a steam cleaner and try it.

- I do not have dogs but it seems it would be cheaper to put a big dog bed next to the sofa for them . It's cheaper to replace the dog bed than the sofa. My daughter has 3 small rescue dogs and they have there own beds in the family room.
- Q: My 19 year old step son ate a greasy breakfast, sitting on my fine designer sofa. He knows NOT to eat any thing sitting on the sofa, and that he is to sit at the table, or bar, when eating. ( His dad and I were out of town.) His plate spilled on to the sofa, and he smeared the food on it, trying to clean it up. The sofa is now stained. We have tried cleaning it with stain remover and upholstery cleaner. The area around the stain has lightened up and the stain remains. So, my designer sofa, that I purchased before I married the teen's dad, is damaged.It will be very expensive to replace the damaged designer sofa. - Q: ever since we left our cat at home alone a couple of days for vacatioin, he's been going to the bathroom on the couch. he likes a lot of attention, so he probably got angry or lonely, but the problem never stopped. we've been keeping him in a seperate room at night, and keeping an eye on him during the day. it seemed like he was over it. but today we accidently left him out and he did it again. what should i do???
- before u go out lay out large flat sheets of tinfoil on the cushions of your sofa. When the cat jumps up there to void the tinfoil will scare him and deter him from going back. To get rid of any smell/ stain on the sofa use a mixture of half vinegar half room temp water. spray well, dab up exess moisture and vacuum when dry.
