Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q: My Condo is 624 sq.ft., and I plan to remodel, and remove old carpet flooring, and replace.: Firstly i dont know how they can justify selling them to you, they sound tight. A carpet has a five year life span,(this is a general guideline) so i would find out how long they have been in there, and they cannot charge you for this time while they have been in there as you were not occupying the property, and they cannot expect you to pay the same amount as it would for you to recarpet the whole property. say they have been in thier three years, this would mean the carpets have a two year life left. i suggest going to a carpet shop with the measurements and getting a quote and then divide that by five, and if they have been in there 3 years offer them 2/5ths of the price the carpet shop quote you. the reason i am saying do it like this is because i work in a letting/estate agents, and this is how we resolve issues with security deposits if the landlord wants to claim for carpet damages. Q: bought a hookah to celebrate turning 19, and my cat knocked over the hookah while we were smoking. Lets just say there is a nickle sized burn in the carpet. Is there ANYTHING I can do? My bf is being a jerk and told me I need to sell my hookah now since it burned the carpet (he doesn't want it in the house anymore), and I'm extremely irritated because it is mine. I am so glad I wasted money on the thing that I am now not allowed to use.-It is not illegal. I smoke legal shisha out of it.-we are renting the house from his parents, and are looking for the least damaging way to cover or fix it. I have no problem explaining this to his parents, but would like to fix it if possible.: Cut out the burnt section and glue in a piece of scrap carpet! Go to a carpet store and get a carpet repair tool. They're only a few bucks. Some adhesive disks and carpet glue. Now take your cutting tool and cut out the damaged section. Be careful to not cut through the carpet fibers themselves. Next cut a replacement section from the donor carpet also being careful not to cut the carpet fibers. Next you will peel off the cover on the adhesive disk and place it in the empty hole. Now put some glue around the edge of the hole and insert your patch trying to match the grain of the carpet. (Carpet has a distinct grain). Press the patch firmly into place and put a weight on top of the area. Let it dry at least twenty four hours before putting the carpet to use.

Q: Does anyone have a good recommendation for carpeting with someone who has a lot of pets? I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and want to get carpet in my home but not sure if it's best to get berber or shag or plush..... sigh, so many carpet choices! I currently have hardwood flooring but I'd prefer carpeting. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. Thank you.: Plush carpets are more comfortable but a berber will stand up to heavy traffic and abuse better. The other things you want to consider is color and texture. The more texture, the better it will hide traffic wear. Try to find something with multi color flecks, it will help to hide stains. No matter what carpet you choose pets can cause a lot of damage to it. Especially if they track in dirt and mud or if they pee or vomit on the carpet. Since you already have hardwood floors you might want to buy carpet and have it turned into an area rug. The flooring store where you buy it should be able to arrange for the carpet to be bound ( having a cloth strip stiched around the edges), and get you a protective underlayment to put between the hardwood and the rug. You can have the rug made to any shape and size you want. Since you won't have to pay for installation you save some money, you won't damage your wood floors and it'll be easier to change in the future.

Q: Okay, so i spilled sweet and sour sauce all over my living room carpet today. I grabbed a bottle of Zout and started spraying it all over the spot, grabbed some paper towel, rubbed the carpet and dabbed the liquid up. then i sprayed febreze and vaccuumed it. YET THERE IS A REALLY NOTICABLE WHITE SPOT!!! almost like i overcleaned the carpet. the carpet around it is quite dirty, and now there is that one clean spot! what did i do wrong? will this go away? also is it going to smell bad? how do i prevent it from smelling bad?: Pour water over the stain before it dries. Have some heavy duty absorbent towels on hand step on them with shoes. This will dilute the stain and make it come to the surface. I have 3 boys, and they are always getting stains on my carpeting. This almost always works. If this doesn't work, you will need to try Tech Stain Remover, this is sold in grocery and hardware stores and is the best stain remove that I have tried so far. You put it on the stain for 3 minutes and blot it out with a wet cloth. Removes stains 99% of the time. Good Luck! I hope this helps you.

Q: SO my dog had bad diaheria and made a nasty nasty mess on the carpet in a few spots and it was just aweful so only thing i had was oxi clean so put oxiclean on the spots which were very large spots and now its super white in those spots which is better then poo but looks crazy... what can I do to make it look not as noticable? Only thing i could think of is get oxiclean and add it to water and steam clean the whole carpet and maybe it wont be as bad but that would take TON of oxiclean does anyone have any ideas?: put a lot of bleach in your steam cleaner, at least maby it will kind of even it up.
