- Plain Arm and Hammer baking Soda works just fine. Sprinkle let it set a few hrs and vacuum it up (overnight is best if you can wait). I do not use the powdered form of carpet fresheners I use the spray foams. They smell good and do not leave the residue in the carpets and are safe around children and pets. Normally I buy them at walmart or the Family Dollar where they are even cheaper and have off brands.

- I sold rugs for awhile and u have to have a rug pad, the best one to get is called Persian dream made by the rug company called mil-liken. there should be a web site for them, also the Persian can be used for carpet or hardwood in case u have to move your rug to a different spot.
