Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

If you use white, I do think it would clash even though your walls are white. Actually, it would drown the room with that much white and cause your dark table to stand out even more. A tan or sand color rug would help to 'marry' the couch, walls and wood together because it's a combination of all the other colors in your room. You could also possibly by some darker brown throw pillows which would then marry your couch with your dark wood and still go with the sandy color rug. Don't buy just plain brown pillows though as they wouldn't really add much excitement to the room. Get something with brown stripes or another design you like. You'll be surprised at how everything will go to gether while still keeping that 'light' feeling you want in your room. I love to decorate and after thinking about your question, the sandy rug or light tan rug just sounds like it would work the best. Good luck on your decorating adventure.
