Q: I just remodeled my bathroom and the contracted crew installed a receptacle about 2 inches above my sink is that against code? From what I understand a receptacle has to be at least 18&quot; from any water source. Can I keep the receptacle there or do I have to move it? The receptacle is GFCI and Im talking about Virginia, United States.: Bathroom receptacles are required to be on a dedicated 20 amp circuit [NEC 210.11(C)(3)] and be located within 3 feet of the outside edge of the sink basin [NEC 210.52(D)]. There is no minimum clearance requirements from a sink basin for a bathroom receptacle. While it is not recommended to place an outlet directly behind a sink, it is not a code violation.

I have heard of a cat that would either go in one brand of litter, or her owner's shoe. Or maybe you aren't cleaning the litter out enough, I know another cat that would only go in fresh litter, he wouldn't go in the litter if there was so much as one poo in it, he would go on the comforter, (they got him a littermaid). Both of those examples are extremes but cats do have preferences, if you change litter brands do so gradualy and make sure that the box is cleaned frequently (especially with two cats in the house)

Q: how to umplug bathroom sink?: there are two options I suggest. First (and easiest,) give drano a try. That stuff has always worked for me. If that doesn't work, you should be able to take the s-trap ( the part of the drain pipe under the sink that dips before it goes through the wall.) Odds are that is where the clog is. Flush that piece out, or buy a new one. Then, check the pipe that leads from the sink to the s-trap for debris. Put it all back together. If the clog is further down the pipe, you may need a plumber.

Put a bucket under the disposal and drain pipe. Loosen the screws ans pull the outlet tube loose. You should have some water dripping out. If you have none, the clog is in the disposal drain outlet. Remove the tube and take a screwdriver or other small object and push through the clog. Clean the pipe as well as you can and re-assemble the drain assembly. With no garbage disposal, you just have to remove the trap. Using a pair of channel lock type pliers or a large adjustable wriench, loosen the pipe nut and pull the trap free. Water from the sink will pour out, so again be prepared with a bucket and gloves! Clean the clogs from the trap. Put the assembly back together and you should be ok. If this sounds like something beyond your mechanical skills, call a plumber!

Q: I am 17 years old and my bathroom sink is clogged apparently with a lot of hair from a year ago and I have told my guardian a numerous amount of times that its having that problem and it needs to be fixed as soon as possible but since they arent doing anything about it then I need to take matters into my own hands and try to fix it and I dont have much money right now so this needs to also be average or cheap. Some one please help oh and tell me where I could also get it.: Before you waste any money on those one-shot solutions, try this: Find a largish pair of pliers and take the P-trap under the sink loose. Put a bucket or large bowl under before you get it loose. Any water still in the pipe and sink will come out. Tip the P-trap (it's called that because of its shape, not because it's full of pee) and look in it. Can you see the clog right there? Fish it out. Problem's fixed, no money spent. No clog? Reach up into the tailpiece coming down from the sink. Sometimes the clog gets stuck up there (weird when it does, but it happens). Reach into the pipe going into the wall. Fish around, try everything. A cheap drain snake costs about what a gallon of Drano costs, and besides working better, works over and over. Try that instead. Your Drano you use one time and it's gone; the drain snake you use now, hang it up and use it next time, and next time, etc. Got it all? Great, put it all back together. Check for leaks. Job's done! Got a leak? Make sure the washers are pointing the right direction, if they have a shape. Rubber ones are just rectangular in section, hard plastic ones are cones. The nut bears against the flat side, the sharp side wedges between the two pipes as you tighten the nut. Good luck with it.

Thanks a bunch!: Ask someone to look at it under a strong light if it's not damaged wash it well rinse it and make sure it's disinfected.
