Q: What is the difference between a basin counter and a bathroom cabinet?: The countertop counter is a ceramic basin. The countertop of the bathroom cabinet is usually marble or artificial stone

Q: how to umplug bathroom sink?: 80% of lavatory sink drains clog at the stopper. Remove all the water you can first. Look under the sink and you will find a rod sticking out of the drain perpendicular to the pipe. unscrew the nut that holds this rod to the drain. pull it out of the drain being careful not to drop any of the parts on the rod if there are any. pull the stopper out of the drain. use a steel hanger with a hook on the end to swirl around in the drain to remove debris. don't run water without pop-up rod as it will leak under the sink. put the stopper back in the drain with the hole facing the back of the pipe so the rod will go into it. put the rod back in and tighten the nut finger tight. flush with cold water and check for leaks around the nut and the pop up rod. tighten as needed to stop leaks. If that doesn't work you can remove the p trap under the sink and empty it. if there is no debris clogging it you can snake through the pipe sticking out of the wall (trap arm). after you snake the drain reinstall the trap and flush with cold water. check the trap for leaks and tighten as needed. I NEVER recommend Draino because it doesn't work very often and when it doesn't, you end up with a sink full of dangerous caustic chemicals. A lot of plumbers will charge extra if they have to deal with it because it can burn you, blind you, ruin your clothes and ruin drain machine cables.

Q: I recently removed a drain plug device for my upstair bathroom sink and removed the trap to clean out my girlfriends hair that clogs the drainage. Since, I have done this I am getting a sewage smell especially when I am running water. What can I do?: Make sure the trap is working properly. The trap needs to maintain water in order for it to stop venting up sewerage. if there is too much of a drop from the sink to the bottom of the trap it will siphon some of the water out of the trap leaving a air gap which will aspirate and vent up. unless there is something still in the sink or pipe before the trap causing the smell, the system is not vented or its not trapped properly. good luck
