Q:Our house was built in the 1950's. I am almost 100% sure that the sink in the bathroom is original to the house. It is off white with gold marbled in. Pretty sure it is not porcelin. Feels almost plastic. It is a sink/counter, one piece unit. I don't have the $$ to go buy a new one, but this one is an eye sore. Help!
The people who re glaze baths may be able to help you, if you contact one in your area.
Q:Can the living room wash basins?
If you are talking about a pure wash plastic bowl, then free
Q:What is the size of the general household bathroom basin size
At present, the commonly used commonly used washbasin sizes are: 585 × 390mm, 600 × 460mm, 700 × 460mm, 750 × 460mm, 800 × 460mm, 900 × 460mm, 1000 × 460mm, 600 × 405 × 155mm, 410 × 310 × 140mm, etc. Size, in addition, the commonly used washbasin size there are many, because the washbasin is a private bathroom sanitary ware products, so in order to try to meet the needs of each user, manufacturers have to quit a lot of different size of the wash basin, and finally appeared The current situation.
Q:serious answers only please without me calling a plumber
The pop-up drain plug in most bathroom sinks can be removed by giving it a quarter turn and lifting it out of the sink. Then loosen the 2 nuts under the sink on each end of the trap and remove it. There is a little water in the trap to prevent sewage gases from coming back into the home so be careful not to spill it after it is removed. Then simply dump it into a bowl or bucket and reassemble in reverse order that it was taken apart after cleaning out any "gunk" you might see inside the drain.
Q:What do you think is more appealing? A wooden cabinet with a one piece vanity top for a sink that would double as storage or a pedestal sink made of porcelain and a piece of wooden bathroom furniture that would be the storage unit?
The pedestal sink is more in vogue now days. We just remodeled our bathroom and installed the pedestal sink and took out the vanity and the one piece counter top. It really made the room appear larger.
Q:I have gurgling noise in my bathroom sink. I have snaked up through the vent pipe-through the bathroom sink (and that will stop the gurgling for a few months but then it comes back). I don't beleive the snake goes all the way to the roof (but I'm sure it's close). Any suggestions?Should I buy an extra extra long snake, and snake the pipe all the way to the roof?Should I climb on the roof and put a garden hose in the vent pipe and turn the water on?; if so what risks/problems should I be mindful of before putting water down the vent pipe via a garden hose? Thanks
Sounds like a vent problem. Flushing with a garden hose will not cause any problems since the roof vent is merely an extension of the main waste pipe. If you live in an area where freezing occurs, do not put a flat screen over the vent pipe. Condensation will occur and the moisture will freeze and form a seal over the pipe, blocking it.
Q:so when i turn the water on this horrible smell comes from the bathroom sink. what can i use to get rid of it?
You can unscrew the U-section of your trap off and clean it out pretty easily. With years of toothpaste, shaving cream, and spit in there, it's no wonder it smells. Take the trap out, use an old toothbrush to scrub it out once you pull out the hair and gunk, and it will be like new. Use baking soda on the toothbrush.
Q:The under-sink cabinet in my bathroom is cheap hollow plastic and is the most hideous shade of off-white, just looks dingy. I want to paint it a nice, clean, bright white. What kind of paint should I use and how do you go about painting it?
u should really watch the home and garden channel. It has some shows on there that show u how to recycle things u have and how to manage ur money so u can fix things up too. and in the kitchen, u said it was small. to open it up, just put a small mirror right behind the stove. it really makes it look a lot bigger. if it cant be permanent, then i would suggest buting the hooks that dont leave marks on ur walls. for ur furniture, i would decorate ur couch with a dark blue blanket that is folded over into a triangle, buy a few cheapo throw pillows in a similar color to the blanket and the same amount of pillows in a cream or white color so u dont have the same color everywhere. to seperate ur two rooms i would probly try to put a small table or maybe evn something like a bench ya kno? it would be able to seperate the two rooms and if you buy the bench it would add storage. u alwas want more storage no matter what! then in ur bathroom, for more storage i would buy something that is kind of like a tower with shelves, in silver, and that way u can store ur towels on some of the bottom shelves and maybe ur lotions and bubble baths or anything else on some of the top shelves. to add color to ur bathroom i would bring in some colorful towels and maybe a new shower curtain. it adds ur personality and it brightens the whole room. good luck with every thing! i hope i helped u some...
Q:Can the bathroom of the bathroom be able to wash clothes directly? Feeling pretty dirty, but modern bathroom decoration, especially small bathrooms are not considered to put the wash basin area ah?
You still buy a washing machine. Pots are still dirty. The
Q:There doesnt seem to be any brackets. We attached the cabinet to the wall and attached the drain and water supply but the sink itself isnt secured to anything and doesnt seem safe.
If the sink sits in a cut-out in the top of the cabinet, the plumbing should pull it down tight enough. It should all be adjustable for that purpose. If it sits on top of an open cabinet, the answer above should work. Caulk it to the back wall and to the top edges of the cabinet and then, again, adjust the plumbing to hold it down tight. By adjust I mean, the drain is on a telescopic system where as you loosen the collar, push the sink down tight and then tighten the collar. The water feeds can then be bent to pull them up tight too.
