Q: My family's bathroom washbasin on the stainless steel shelf, rusty, how to do it?
Wei Meng a rub on the down ~ wash basin with clean porcelain king ~
Q: kitchen sink: it sounds like theres a waterfall underneath it and, from what we can tell, it seems to be leaking from the vertical pipe.bathroom sink: sounds like a very tiny waterfall. It mainly sounds like a water faucet does when you have it turned on at normal speed. The water is draining off of the bottom part of the sink bowl so it must be leaking right around there.help please! thanks!
its most likely the sink basket. it takes some work the plumbers puttee between the sink and the basket is gone ,or try tithing the nut on the basket not easy ether .there is special tools of course it would be easier to call a plumber or a friend that is handy with repairs, there is so much that maybe wrong under the sinks , but inexpensive to replace the plumber on the other hand..... same for bathroom but the drain is call a pop-up check all the drain fitting nut only use your hands to tithin them
Q: Over the weekend I put a reddish packet down on my NEW, WHITE bathroom sink. When I went to pick the packet up I saw it had left a PINK STAIN about the size of a half dollar on my new sink (I *think* the sink is porcelain but I'm not positive. It is *not* marble or any other stone. It is - I believe - basic bathroom sink material). Anyway, I used some Comet bathroom cleaner. Did nothing. I then tried bleach (big mistake! I think it actually now gave the stain a yellowish hue). I have not tried anything else.If you have any advice, I'd appreciate it.Thank you!
Usually an all purpose kitchen/bathroom cleaner after bleach should do it. i have gotten permanent black hair dye on my sink and left it overnight and it has still came out. put bleach on a washcloth and let it sit on top of the stain for 30 mins or so and then an all purpose stain remover. it always works for me.
Q: My bathroom sink is so clogged its no longer draining so there is now a pool of water in the sink constantly, its gross. Can i use liquid drainer for this? Or can I do something else?
drano worked for me. but you could also get the imitations which are cheaper and have basically same ingredients. if it still doesnt work, get a metal hanger and fold it so its like a long rod with a hook. there may be hair in there ir something else preventing the water from going through. pluck out all you can. as a last resort, my dad had to disarm it a bit from under the sink and remove stuff by hand, but that was when the ring when down the sink. either way, first try drano but follow the instructions. then try the clothes hanger. then disarms. if all else fails, search for cheapest plumber around. good luck (:
Q: It's not clogged, I've used drain-o, and it's been this way for several years...it's driving me nuts. I'm a stay at home mom and want to WOW my hubby with my fix-it skills;o) But, I have no idea how to fix it...any ideas?
Well using Drano isn't a 100% guarantee that the clog will be cleared. You could try running a snake down the pipe, but you'll have to remove the strainer out of the sink 1st. Under the sink is a curve in the drain pipe called the P-Trap. This is the most common place for clogs to develop in a bathroom sink. You can try removing it, but not if it's all metal because it's likely that it's been soldered in place. But if it's the black PVC type, then you should be able to loosen the parts either by hand, or with a pair of channel lock pliers. Just don't attempt to separate any of the pipes that have been glued with adhesive. Glued PVC joints are permanent, & if you have to work with them, the glued parts have to be replaced. Although most PVC parts are rather inexpensive. Once you get the P-Trap apart, you can see if it's clogged by attempting to look through it. Most of the material that will be clogging a P-Trap can be pretty yucky & gooey. If you think you would rather replace the P-Trap rather than clean it, then I recommend that you make sure it isn't oozing too much crud, & take the entire P-Trap assembly to your Hardware Store, & get identical replacement parts. If you just go there without enough knowledge about the pipe sizes you need you will end up making another trip. Whenever I take something apart that I am not sure of how it goes back together, I usually make a diagram before taking it apart. But lately I have resorted to taking digital pictures. Either will work in the event that you decide to take anything apart so you will have an idea on how to reassemble it. Good Luck & have fun!
Q: My husband recently fixed a leak in the bathroom tub (sealed something) and obviously had to turn the water off while working on this. Since then the hot water in the bathroom sink does not work when we turn the faucet on (the cold water faucet does work and come out fine). Also not the kitchen sink has a delay when turning it off (water comes out about 5 seconds after turning off) Any ideas why this may be occurring?
He might not have completely turned the hot water valve back on at the water heater ( or if there is a cold feed that one has to be full open too. I doubt this is the problem though. I think somewhere in the process of fixing the problem small bits of rubber and crap in the pipes was pushed forward when he turned the water back on and got stuck in the hot water cartridge in the faucet. Have him shut the water off under the sink , remove the cartridge ( or stem) and put a rag over the hot water opening then turn the valve under the sink back on for a few seconds to blast out whatever is in the pipe. Then he can try to clean the cartridge out or evaluate the condition of the washer on the stem if it isn't a cartridge. Assuming the water came out full force when the cartridge/stem was removed it is resolved by cleaning or replacing. If no water came out, it is time to work your way back down the plumbing system to see that everything is turned on. Once you have eliminated everything you can, it will then make sense to call a plumber if the hot water still doesn't work.
