- Call plumber. When you do tell them your problem as you have written here, then tell them that you don't want a decent guy to do it but who is the biggest areshole of a plumber in town. This is because if you rang me with this problem I would tell you to f-off you are obviously a pig and I would not be that happy sticking my hands or face any where near your puke and you should get an as-hole like yourself so you can share your filth with another ******.

- Assuming you mean the pop up drain (chrome), I suggest you dry fit the old one into the new sink. Often, the pop ups for internal overflow sinks have a large opening allowing water from the overflow into them. It may not seal on the new sink depending on the thickness of the new sink. If it doesn't seal, not the end of the world. Visit a good local plumbing supply store and ask for a pop up drain for a sink with no overflow.

- You've already gotten good advice. One more thing to check though. If you have an overflow on your sink,typically a small hole just below the top of the sink, that could be where the smell is coming from. The overflow allows water to drain out if you've left the stopper closed and the water running. The water goes down through the inside of the body of the sink and connects to the drain line. On most sinks, water can collect inside. This can get very smelly. If, after cleaning the drain line, you put your nose near the overflow hole and detect the smell, use a funnel or a measuring cup to pour your favorite cleaning solution into the hole. Put in at least a cup and let it sit for an hour. Then pour hot water in. If you can find a bottle brush that will fit through the hole, a good scrubbing, followed by soaking and flushing, will do wonders. Flush it every month or two to keep it smelling fresh. Even if you've never allowed water to come up to the overflow, water will come into the space any time the drain backs up, even a little.

- It should be okay if it went all the way through to the drain thing. But if it got stuck, it could start a build up. Try not to drop anything else. Except water.

- Well, look under your sink. The area which has a twistable part,(looks like an upside down cap) twist it off and remove the gunk. But place a pail below it coz all the water will gush out. Then on the tap and rinse it for a little while. That should work. There's probably too much dirt trapped there making water unpassable.
