Q: I've got a badly clogged bathroom sink. I took out the draiin cover and I can see where the water is just standing/ draining extremely slowly. I can't reach the clog, but I was able to get a wire coat hanger into it and pull out a small bit of hair (not sure how hair even got into the sink!) but it didn't do anything to speed the draning. There could be a small bit of gravel in the drain from a few months ago as well as some bits of paper (all on accident, I'd never put anything down there!). I already tried some baking soda and vinegar but it didnt help, the vinegar just made the water level raise. The water is maybe 6 or 7 inches from the drain (not in the sink, in the pipe). What should I do? Thanks for your help :): The clog is, most likely, in the p-trap. If you look under the sink, it's the pipe is shaped like a U. A coat hanger won't make the bend, to reach most of the clog. So, if you don't feel that taking it off yourself is possible, they (hardware, home depot stores) carry plastic drain snakes. If someone could please tell me how to fix this or give me a website that shows pictures and instructions that would be great.: There is a rod that moves the stopper up and down, this is connected to your stick, with a set screw in a U shaped bracket.. Look under the sink. You can just tighten that set screw.

Q: what is the best drain cleaner for the bathroom sink?: A plunger will normally do the job. Fill the sink half with hot water and the pull the plug. Put the plunger over the drain pipe and pus hardactuallyly it is better to hit it with the palm of your hand. You mus block the overflow and also the drain plugs if the piping is connected to the sinks as well. If the plunger does not remove the blockage you can pour 1/2 a cup Costic soda (Sodium Hydroxide) in the drain plug and add some water, wait about 10 minutes and then use the plunger again. Be verycare full when working with costic soda. wear safety glasses as well as gloves. Do not let any costic soda deluted or un deluted come in contact with your skin or any part of your body. Do not add hot water to the costic soda it may put the system under pressure and burst some of the pipes. Do not use costic soda in a septec tank system it will kill all the buggs that work for you in the tank.

Q: Does anyone have these bathroom sinks?: It may sound dumb, but I hate these sinks and I'll tell you why. With a traditional undermount sink or a counter that has a sink built in, the height is perfect to reach in and wash your hands. With these new bowl sinks or topmount sinks, you significantly raise the height and your forearms have a tendency to touch the sides of the bowl. It's the stupidest reason but I cant stand adjusting to new heights in kitchens or bathrooms. You get comfortable with standard heights and readjusting after so many years just becomes an annoyance.
