You need to be real careful of what you use on it if it is ,as allot of chemicals will start to melt that making a worse mess. If it is a Porcelain sink, (what the toilet is made from) use a pumice stone on it. That is a volcanic rock used to clean many things such as tile, toilets. It doesn't scratch the surface but does remove stains you never thought would come out. Buy one at Lowe's Hardware or any pool supply. Pretty cheap too. Only a couple of bucks.

Q: Our house was built in 1992. The faucet is old and needs to be replaced. At one point we had purchased a Moen faucet, but the new faucet had like rigid pipe connections whereas the old one has what appears to be soft copper much smaller pipe connections. Im just wondering if this is something that is not easily done. Do they still sell the faucets with the soft copper lines? Or do we need a plumber to do this?: if your sink has shut off valves on it . you will be ok simply remove all the plumbing from shut off valve to sink . in replacement use specially designed sink supply tubes that are chrome and flexible it will be a snap and no plumber needed . not the solid looking chrome these are supply lines that are corrugated stainless wrapped around a pipe

Q: So I live in an appartment, the upstairs of a house. Everytime I go to brush my teeth all I can smell is POO! I know this is disgusting and I don't know what to do about it???: If you live in the UK then bathrooms usually have water supplied by a tank hot from the tank in your airing cupboard which is mains fed, cold is usually supplied by a tank some times in the loft which can become contaminated although this is mains fed there is a loose lid which could become dislodged I have heard of dead birds in cold water tanks. Worst case scenario is that your tank has been contaminated on purpose. Speak to your management company or health department and explain the problem, in the meantime use bottled water to brush your teeth and ask other residents if they have a similar problem

Q: I have tried draino, but I think I need to pull out the drain and remove the hair and stuff. It drains really slow. I don't know if I should call the landlord because it is something small. But I don't know how to remove the drain. do I just pull it straight out? there are no screws or anything, but it doesn't seem to want to budge and I don't want to break it since it isn't really mine. here is a picture of the type of drain I am talking about:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3b/Bathroom_sink_drain.jpg: If you cannot lift the drain cap straight out easily, the drain insert is held by a lever under the sink that is attached to the button that opens and closes the drain. It might be easier to remove the trap below the sink and flush it out. All metal and plastic drain traps unscrew by turning the ring around the place where different pieces join. After the ring is loose, the pieces separate easily. Put a pail or pan under the trap before removing it to catch the nasty water.

Q: I noticed my bathroom sink was looking a bit gunky , so used Kiwi drain unblocker in sachets which i poured down the sink and followed the instructions. But instead of cleaning the pipe, it has blocked the sink and now the water is not draining away! I used the drain unblocker again and this morning used bleach but nothing is shifting it. How can a drain unblocker have caused the sink to block? Any advice would be appreciated.: Well, look under your sink. The area which has a twistable part,(looks like an upside down cap) twist it off and remove the gunk. But place a pail below it coz all the water will gush out. Then on the tap and rinse it for a little while. That should work. There's probably too much dirt trapped there making water unpassable.

Q: Ok I was washing my bathroom sink with some sort of cleaner and apparently it was not the right kind. Since then the sink does not drain properly (dirty water stays in it for days and days) and there are a million little hairs (from shaving) stuck in the basin. It seems it melted whatever material it is made out of (some kind of ceramic, i think). Not only is it gross and hard to use (I cant run water for very long or it will fill up) but I am also afraid what it is going to cost. Does anyone know how I can fix this, or how much it is going to cost (to be taken out of my apartment deposit)? Thanks.: If you melted it, it will have to be replaced. To unclogged the hair, try a coat hanger push it into the drain and twist it around, do this until you have the clog clear. If it is further down the line remove the P-trap under the sink and clear it from this point.
