- Q:When making French press coffee: What grind of coffee? What kind? Light or dark roast?
- The most IMPORTANT thing to know regarding coffee made in a French press: you need LARGE particles of a uniform size for your coffee to turn out right. A high-quality grinder is your best bet--you can get the beans ground at the shop, or buy whole beans and grind them yourself. Smaller coffee particles lead to more dust, foam in the coffee and sludge in the bottom of your cup. Try to only grind as much as you can use in 2-3 days. I grind my coffee every day, use it and then grind more as needed. I have a French press, though do not use it every single day. I enjoy the flavor of the coffee, and sometimes will make a pot if it is to be enjoyed with the meal, such as brunch, but during the busy week, a coffee-maker with a timer is what I use most often. (With beans ground as I set the pot up the night before.) I often make coffee throughout the day if I am home, and use the French press then.
- Q:i am 13 years old , 102 pounds, does squatting excercise the upper body?is squatting better than leg pressing?if squatting works the upper body should i do it because i work the upper body on other days?will squatting or leg pressing make me stronger in my legsi have never squattedi leg press 150 pounds 12 repsplease don't tell me i'm to young to weight lifti want to know which excercise makes my legs strongerdoes leg pressing work the hamstrings as a major muscle and what muscles do both of the excersises work?
- The squat is an excellent exercise, but I would always recommend the leg press or hack squat for their safty. I use the hack squat myself, never try to squat without a spotter.
- Q:Hi there,i have been using a barbell bench press for my decline press and nearly every gym session i seem to stack the weights up and up. however when i use the smith machine for flat bench press it seems that it takes me a very long time to gain more weight.Which machine will get me better results and weight gains?ThanksP.S Is there any difference between the way the two machines work the chest?(The smith machine is a machine and barbell bench press is free hand)
- Always, ALWAYS go regular free weight bench press. Free weights are the most effective because the movements are not controlled...they are not as safe as machines per se, but what's a spotter for eh? I bench 185lbs (barbell) right now. If I were to use a Smith machine, I could probably do 225lbs due to the extra support. Decline bench pressing seems to be easier than incline for some reason. My favorite has and always will be the regular flat bench press, but I do understand what you mean by decline feeling easy. The standard, flat bench press is the #1 upper body exercise though.
- Q:The title says it all but to be more descriptive, I like a auto key presser software,* something like when F5 is pressed, keys number 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ,5 will be pressed by sequence with an interval of something like 2 seconds.* example:F5 is pressed.1 will be pressed then after 2 seconds2 will be pressed.then so on. If you know what I mean. :) thanks
- Download this one that helped me before goo.gl/sMOx9 It's easy to use and works well for me.
- Q:I have to write and essay with multiple quotes from legitimate book sources on the effect of the Printing Press on the Enlightenment. I am saying that without the press, the Enlightenment would not have happened. Though I can use only one credible internet source, I can cite other web pages as long as the content of my quote can be found in a book somewhere. A little help finding these sources? I've used Francis Bacon's Novum Organum, but other than that, I'm totally lost. And any points I could write on would be great!
- The printing press helped with the development of the English language. With the press, more texts were available to the public. With more texts available, literacy increased among the masses. Once literacy takes a foothold, you see advances across the board. I would do a search using key phrases with The History of the English Language. Once you have some titles to work with, you should check out the Project Gutenberg website; it has older texts available on-line for free. Once there, you can obtain quotes and information to cite. I hope this was a little helpful.
- Q:my bench pressing hasnt improve in over a month, altho I do it every other day, I dont know what is the problem but I just dont have the strenght...
- stop benching all together for a month. focus on building your back and shoulder strength. then come back to the bench and hit it only 1-2 times a week. that worked great for me when I was in high school and I plateaud
- Q:what is the minimum amount of weight that a 6 foot tall, 160 pound 14 year old boy should be able to bench press?
- What do you mean by minimum? The minimum to avoid being made fun of? The minimum to be considered strong? I would say a beginning goal of a healthy young man would be to do their body weight, so 160 pounds. When I first started bench pressing at around 15 years old, I think I weighed about 150 and ended up doing around 180-185 at the end of the school year. I was naturally strong though, so that may have been above average. Keep working hard and challenging your muscles, and you'll be worrying about maximums instead of minimums!
- Q:when i press my fingers on my guitars when doing certain chords, the base of my thumb starts to hurt, am i doing it wrong? if so, where should the force come from?
- You are probably pressing too hard with the thumb. You really shouldn't need to apply any pressure with the thumb in most cases. Your fingers alone should be able to press the strings down. You need to experiment with the exact amount of pressure to use to fret each string to get rid of this habit. It actually requires very little pressure to fret a string unless you have really high action or use a larger string gauge.
- Q:okay, so a few days ago my ipod was stolen in school. I manage to hunt and track down the kid who did it, but he claimed he doesn't have it anymore. I had him arrested and pressed charges against him. What does pressing charges actually do? and will i get compensation in anyway for my stolen property?
- When you filed a police report and he was arrested you probably agreed to prosecute. I don't know what the value of the iPod is but if it exceeds a certain value determined by your state laws it will be a felony. The police cannot get you any money for your loss but if they can trace it down to the current possessor they may be able to recover it and return it to you. If the person that accepted it from the thief knew it was stolen (and it can be proven) he may be charged with receiving stolen property.
- Q:effective shoulder exercisesalready doing military presses
- The military press is my favorite shoulder exercise. I guess, next would be dumbbell side laterals. A lot of people have problems with the upright row, due to shoulder impringment. So I'm not a fan of that movement.
