- Q: I just moved into a house that has a very narrow staircase leading up to the second story ( which is actually a finished attic). I want to have my tv room up there. The width of the doorway and staircase is 24. I want the biggest comfiest couch possible. Please help!
- As long as your doorway is at least 86 high, the sofa will most likely fit. The deliverymen will stand the sofa on end and then rotate or twist it in a letter C pattern through the door. Works like magic.
- Q: I bought an ikea Ektorp sofa two years ago.In the first year itself, I noticed feather leaking out of the sofas, it seems Ikea uses feathers in their cushions.Anyway when I was about to wash, I removed the slipcovers and there was just so much feathers that have leaked out. - The Ektorp sofa has an awful reputation. I almost bought one last year but I did some research first and I'm glad I did! All the problems you've experienced are the similar to the stories I read. Apparently, the covers are well known for fading. I would try to take it back and get a refund or at least a replacement sofa. Good luck.

- House-train - is lost when it is no longer enforced Peeing in your new sofa, after the incident where your dog first peed in your new sofa, it is no longer a new sofa because he has already marked that territory so unless you buy a new sofa or use a odor-remover (pet supplies have this) your dog will continue to pee in this same area always. I suggest if you have time to do this, OBSERVE your dog, what time he usually pees in this same area although tedious, you could time him and when he is about to pee you immediately take him out of the house or remove him from that spot so he wouldn't pee there.

- Q: I dog-sat a friend's dog for three days and while the old girl was asleep on my sofa, her bladder released her urine onto one of my sofa cushions. My hound dog used to sleep on that sofa all the time, now she won't go anywhere near the sofa and I've tried all of the dog cleaners and all of the deodorizers! Does anyone have a homemade remedy? - Q: i have a 4year old labrador who unfortunatly i have made the mistake of letting him on sofa since he was 11weeks old,now i am considering buying a leather 3piece suite and lots of people must have this problem but are leather suites pet proof?
- We have had a leather suite for as long as we have had Labs and it is still like new, no scratches or tears, except for the handle on the recliner, Milly chewed the leather off when she was a puppy, but that would have happened whether it was leather or cloth. I tend to put a throw (cover) on the sofa for when they get on, more to make it warmer for them, than to protect it, as leather can be cold when you first sit on it. A benefit of leather is that if they get it dirty you can just wash it off. Just make sure you get a good quality leather, not the cheaper thin leather.

- If it is spots I just get a rag put some dawn on it and spot clean it. It works great. I have children and do it regularly. If it is a bigger job steam clean it with rented carpet cleaner or if you have one use the hand wand.
