- Q:I had to choose a neutral colour for walls in the livingroom (well the only room since it's a small apartment) and I didn't want white or light grey so I chose beige. I just hate the fact beige is so light and kinda boring. What colors go with beige with the decorating, what colour sofa and paintings? - Most definately. there isn't much cushion to the arms the wood is usually square under it so all that shifting of weight causes it to wear more quickly.

- I've purchased several sofas and sectionals from Z Gallerie (they carry a variety of brands) and I've always had great luck with them. You might want to check them out. Their prices are fairly reasonably for the quality and they tend to last longer than most which gives you greater value in the long run. In general, avoid sofas and sectionals that have sewn-in cushions. Since you cannot flip and rotate the cushions you cannot maximize their life. How often does anyone actually sit in the middle of the sofa, right? A good salesperson will be willing to unzip the cushions and show you the construction going on inside. I recommend foam cushions that are wrapped in a blanket of down for more comfort and loft; also the down blanket can be [somewhat] fluffed.

- I don't think so, no. You're now only given a sort of credit that enables you to buy one of anything in the VIP catalog each month. Personally, I hate that update, as well as the fact that HC Sofas have greatly depreciated in value. I spent thousands on that game and invested in those sofas, and look where it got me. I no longer play the game, but wish you good luck with yours.

- As others have suggested, consider a futon. They are not very expensive, look great during the day as a 'sofa' and then can be folded out at night into a double bed-size. There are many covers to choose from so you will not have a hard time getting one to go with your decor. Remember to also buy a couple of pillows that you could put a pillowcase on for when you are sleeping. Keep a comforter handy and you'll be good to go!

The other issue is that the door is 30-31 inches wide and most furniture heights and depths are bigger than this. I have looked at Ikea's products and I'm considering the Karlstad loveseat or the new Sater sofa, which is a 2.5 seat leather sofa. Is Ikea furniture comfortable and durable. How good is the leather? How well does the furniture age? I don't want it looking shabby after a short while. - Go with Karlstad. The Sater looks cheap, and the higher cost of the Karlstad probably means better quality (and the Karlstad comes in much nicer colors).

- That was in England, but I can definitely imagine the same thing happening here. Chinese made sofas had 'sachets' of an antifungal inside the couches to prevent mold from growing on the leather, the antifungal stuff poisoned a bunch of people.
