Q: what is NPSH for the water pump. Can you anyone explain in details? How can it calculate?
Water boarding is cruel and in-humane. Doesn't always work. The prisoner is gonna sing anyway, and most often what they tell is not the information the Country is trying to obtain. The person being tortured, will promise and say anything to be taken off of water boarding. Doesn't always work. Most often if this takes place in anyother Country then the United States, the prisoner is usually killed. A very cruel act against Humanity.
Q: I just bought a house and we have well water. When I went out to change the filter on the pump I noticed a valve leaking...I went to check on it and noticed it had two settings if you will. one says System and the other says by pass if I move the lever to system the leak stops, if I move it back to bypass the leak continues...question is which one should I have it set on and what is the purpose?
Okay, Adam, we also have a well and just put in a new one. The setting that says System means that the water is running through the filter. The setting that says by pass means that the water is NOT running through the filter. You will have water either way in your house (or you should). It is just either, it is running through the filter, or it is not. I hope I have helped. gram
Q: I just posted another question a few minutes ago, but not really much help with the one answer I got. I'm now sure that what part I'm feeling on the back of the engine block is the water pump on my 97 Grand Am 2.4L twin cam POS car. I somehow got my hand back there enough to take pictures to see what I'm feeling. Noticed in one of them that there is a bolt missing! This area was very wet with coolant. Would this bolt missing cause the pump/cover to leak? Makes sense to me. If all the bolts aren't there, then there wouldn't be proper seal, right? Had this engine put in a few months ago. The guy who did it seemed to miss a lot of things.
they're 2 distinctive areas, -- ninety 9% of the time you purely repalce the waterpump! The housing is kind of the decrease back of the pump assembly! analyze this to having a flat tire- you could might desire to throw the tire away,-- yet you utilize the wheel lower back! As for the leak, it relies upon in basic terms what's inflicting it, - this is repairable, - or it could no longer, -- possibly there's a discrepiency interior the instullation additionally. this might purely be desperate by using an experienced mechanic that takes the time to look and see what's inflicting the leak! working example a chip or intense scratch in mating surfaces might enable leak! -- often no sealer is needed while installation a waterpump, - the gasket usually compenstates for any minor' discrepiences of this style (so sealer might desire to no tbe mandatory)! yet this same concern must be relatively solved with a sprint silicone RTV sealer, - it could fill the scratch or chip and seal it off so no leak occoured! *** it is likewise a possibility that the housing isn't good sealed the place it mounts on the block (or the hoses), - and the housing itself must be solid! Housing expenses greater suitable than pump! additionally finding on what they might desire to do to get it out and alter it, - the hard artwork ought to fee lots! finding on whether you're able (or keen) to take this aside and and examine all of it out for your self, -and see if concern exists, - or is repairable (or substitute housing out yoruself), - you will possibly desire to remember on what the storage says! by using the way in some fifty 5 years of being a mechanic, - I even have seen greater defective new areas than i like to think of roughly,- so there's a threat that to procure a team of undesirable areas too! this is unlikely which you're able to get 4 in a row-- (till some production unit became out 10k - improper contraptions on assembly line), -- yet it relatively is not impossible!
Q: i have the power max xp652 water pump, 2 inch inlet and outlet, 6.5 horsepower, and says it can reach 100 psi. now i bought the pump so i can use it for my mobile detailing business, the problem is im barely getting 40 psi out the end and its not very much water to wash a car with. Im using a two inch suction hose to get it in, then right after the outlet i reduced it down to 3/4 inch into a 50 ft. garden hose. this only got me 40 psi and the nozzle was basically just spitting it out, so i tried using 50 ft. of 1/4 inch pressure washer hose and it didnt change anything still 40 psi. so please if there is any way i can up the psi, please tell me any ideas are good. i dont know if its just because i reduced it down too quick or if my suction hose is too big. someone who is into hydraulics please help.
I don't know anything about the xp652 , but if this pump goes in a well you also need a pressure tank and then a preassure switch , the pump starts it you the get a tank , if your tank has a bladder it will probably be preset at 30 psi but thats not where you get your pressure the switch has two little screws one will set how hard she blasts ( thats where your pump comes in) the other one sets how low your pressure gets before the pump turns on again , But if the xp652 is an outside system , ( outside of your regular weter pumping system then , Never mind .
Q: I've searched the net but cannot find exactly what I'm looking for and hoping someone out there can steer me in the right direction! Maybe I'm not looking in the right place....or do I have to fabricate my own? I'm up for the challenge!1) Trying to source a water pump that I'm going to power by HAND or a BICYCLE. 2) My choice of pump to give a continuous stream of water (very important) is a rotary (centrifugal) type or is there something else capable of a continuous output?3) This will NOT BE USED for potable water. SPECS:a) lightweight but durable, the smaller, the better. b) low RPM, high volume output and capable of producing/handling pressure. c) self-primingd) able to handle some small particulates in the water as I am using rain water. (from outside, NOT filtered, so the following may be present: bugs, dust, etc...) Thank you, in advance, for your help and would be nice to thank the individual(s) for a unique answer to my request at a later date so let me know you're preferred method of contact!
Those are widely used where hand or bicycle or animal power is common. It meets all your criteria except pressure. Depending on how much pressure you want/need a stand pipe or elevated tank might meet that requirement. If pressure is necessary, then go with a Double Acting Piston Pump and filter the suction. I recommend a Graded Sand Bed over the suction. I designed public water supply pumping stations drawing from rivers for years. Filtering the suction is no big deal.
Q: Is it a must to change the entire water pump since only driplets of anti-freeze leak out over a 7day period from the bottom of the pump? Can i simply change the gasket and make it all better? Water pump is pumping and making no noise, vehicle isnt over heating.
Unfortunately, this usually requires a new pump. It's possible (but unlikely) that the gasket is leaking - more likely, the seal around the pulley shaft is the problem. Replacement is the only option. Usually, this is done at the same time as the timing belt - has this been done yet? If it was done before you got the car, its possible they tried to save a few bucks by skipping the water pump. This is usually a bad move - the pump almost always wears out at about the same time - but it is cheaper, if they were planning on getting rid of the car soon. And since one usually needs to be removed to access the other...you get the idea. Good luck!
Q: Dear friends, please let me know in most of the power plants recirculation line and balance leak off lines are provided for boiler feed water pumps and those lines are connected to Deaerator. Why?
The feed pumps for most power plants are multistage centrifugal pumps. They have a minimum flow requirement or the balancing forces of the various impellers are lost and the pump is damaged. A recirculation line permits a minimum flow to be maintained at all times. It goes back to the deaerator so the boiler feedwater is not lost. Note: many of these pumps have the recycle automated so it is only in operation at very low flow rates. The leak off from the balancing line is recycled for the same reason.
Q: My truck turned off by itself and a bunch of steam and smoke came out and my radiator was dry. To keep it running i had to have the engine revved and at a stop sign hold the brake down. and slightly press. I'm assuming its the water pump however. It started yesterday as the colder weather started. What my question is what do you think it is and if you have experience with water pumps, how hard is it to replace i found one for $14
that don,t sound like the water pump. if it was the pump then it would overheat and leak out. check to see where it,s leaking at. if it,s leaking from the pump then it will have to be changed even though it still might not help it to idle. it,s not really that hard to change the pump on a 351W . the hardest part is getting into it. you might have to remover some stuff so you can work. the belt and water pump pulley will have to come off and the fan but that should let you into the bolts.
Q: My car broke down yesterday and is waiting to be towed to the mechanic (2000 Dodge Neon). I'm pretty sure the Timing Belt broke, but my water pump was broken in the process and leaked out lots of water. Would the timing belt break the water pump when it snapped? Or does the broken water pump lead us to a different conclusion? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Also I was reading online today about interference engines, but couldn't find a list to verify if I have one of those or not. Anyone know? Thanks!
As far as I know, Neon's do not have interference engines. A bad water pump can cause the belt to snap, not usually the other way around.
Q: I want to run 1 HP, 220 v, single phase water pump on solar panels without using any batteries. what do I need to do so amp; how do I wire it?
Several huge panels, into an inverter than can provide the required amperage. You realize the pump will only run when the panels are receiving light, don't you? While you may not wish to use batteries, without the batteries the system will only work when and if it gets enough sun to actually provide the required power. It may actually burn out the system or even the motor trying to run on less power than it needs.
