Carpet is large variety's is easier to locate, while carpet tiles are usually plain,and of fewer variety's. The backing on carpet is of better quality and definatly stronger. The backing on carpet tile is thin and of course sticky due to the adhesive. Should your carpet get wet, the carpeet tiles do not do wet well. They after a while will pull up and have to be repaced, and it can be a larger job than thought as the surrounding tiles will look dirty. Laminate, well that is a different totally different look and feel.

Professionals use a product called Stain Magic that may get rid of some or if you're lucky all of it. I would not suggest cutting berber because your new piece of carpet will not match very well. At least that's what my husband was told when he went to school to learn how to clean carpets.
