Q: I tried asking WikiAnswers but no answers. So I wanted to ask here.
What do you think? Data cables are used to power up the device, and the power cable is used to transfer data.
Q: Hi, my old laptop has broken: when i try to put the power cable into the socket on the laptop, it only goes in on a certain angle and never stays there even when taped, so its impossible to get the laptop on for more than a few seconds. I've tried different power cables too, and nothing seems to work, so it must be the actual laptop problem... how can I get the laptop to stay on to retrieve some photos that I have got on there? Thanks
There are laptop drive to regular IDE adapters, so you can plug the drive into a desktop computer. Since it is an old computer, it probably an IDE drive, not one of the newer SATA laptop drives (there are adapters for those too). Remove the drive from the laptop, and plug in the adapter (commonly found on OKorder), then plug it into an IDE cable in someone's desktop. Watch for the master/slave jumper issue. If it's the only drive on the cable, the default master setting will run as-is. trying different power cables is a no-no for laptops, unless they are made for that same model. Using the wrong adapter may fry your motherboard
Q: Hi I have a 94 Cadillac Deville 4.9L and im trying to figure out with cable on my alternator is the power cable and which one is the ground. I have included a pic to help.
The power cable is the fat one.
Q: Why is the terminal metal housing of the power cable to be grounded?
If the network cable is shielded with the network no problem, in fact, the main problem is not interference, it touches on security issues, from the truth, the strong and weak electricity can not take a bridge, if you must go inside a bridge, to add metal partitions The
Q: Why medium voltage power cable sometimes write 8.7 / 10kv sometimes written in 8.7 / 15kv where the difference
If you buried the VGA line core has more than 7 (set the exclusion of the moxibustion smoked smoked ship to remove the shield), you can. VGA head is 5 to 10 feet welded together to do the public, red, green, blue shielded wire twisted together to receive the public ground: ..3 feet connected red, green, blue core; ; 14 white lines; outer shield pressure to the shell. (At least two) at both ends to pick out the audio line (left and right channels), shield to do the public, to access the audio 3.5 straight plug. If only one rich, on the channel to listen to listen to mona channel it
Q: Hi, Recently I bought nikon S550 digi camera from U.S, their power supply is different from India. In the power cable they mentioned 125 7A, do i need any convertor or directly i can use.
India power outlets run 220v, not 120, so you are going to need a converter or a completely new power-supply.
Q: I'm trying to install a GeForce GTX 460. It came with a supplemental power supply cord, one end goes into the card, and there are 2 heads on the other end, and i can only find 1 place to plug in a single head into my power supply... When i turn the computer on the fan on the card turns on so i assume enough power is being given to the card, yet when i log in and put in the Installation disk, it says quot;not foundquot;... i already locked the card in, and i tried re adjusting the card multiple times but that doesn't do anything so i'm sure putting in the card incorrectly isn't the case. help! :(
If your power supply doesn't have a PCIe power connecter then it is almost certainly not powerful enough to run the card. You need a better power supply. Next time read the requirements for the video card and make sure you know what it's saying. Did you even plug your monitor into the card after installing it? I said that if your POWER SUPPLY does not have a PCIe plug, then it's almost certainly not powerful enough to run that card. Adapters mean squat.
Q: I need to resolve a debate- is there a power/telephone line under the sea running between the UK and USA? Or is the communication just done by satellite?
**Power** cables, no. But transatlantic telephone cables still exist and are still in use.
Q: Soooooo I don't know much about electronics, but... I'm pretty that my AC power cable for my new receiver was made wrong. You know how it supposed to have a positive and a negative pins? well they are both the same. I know that the wall outlet has the little whole and the bigger one. I've seen some AC power cables that only have the little flat pins so they fit on the wall outlet. My cable has two of the big flat pins... so I can't plug it in the outlet. What do I do? is there like a plug I could buy? I've been using google but I can't find anything...
The hot side of outlets has a smaller socket dimension, and that's supposed to prevent a plug that has an assigned neutral from being plugged in with the neutral (wider blade) side connected to the hot side. If your plug has two of the wider blades, then that does sound like a manufacturing defect. I'd complain to the manufacturer or vendor. Hopefully the power cord is removable, so you don't have to return the whole unit.
Q: I am getting a new gaming computer for Christmas with a 700 watt, 12.5 AMP (I think) power supply. I have two power cords for computers on my shelf, but my dad is worried that a standard power cable won't properly power my computer. Do I need to get a more powerful cable? If so, please send a link to where I can buy one, I have been searching but only found standard ones. Thank you.
A standard cord will work, that is not 7.5 amps it is 700w/115V=6.08amps. for 15 amps you need 14guage wire and for 20 amps 12 gauge 30 amps 10 gauge, and so on, you may need to be aware of how many other things you plug in to that circuit, such as a tv in another room or even another computer because you may have more than one room on the sam house circuit
