Q: I got a rug burn on my toe Monday and not quite sure how to treat it. When I looked up how to treat rug burns, every site said that they were like 1st degree burns or a sunburn and should be pretty much treated the same way. However mine is open and for the first few days, was leaking pus and a clear liquid. It hasn't healed up yet and I have been treating it as a cut. It fizzes when peroxide is applied but today didn't do it as much (and hurts much less). Am I doing the right thing? Also is there a cool trick to get a band aid to stay on my toe? The burn is at the joint that is the foot equivalent of a knuckle.: If it is getting better than you are doing the right thing. The trick to the band aid, would be to get a longer one, so that it will go all the way around your toe and stick to itself. Measure it before you take those tabs off to make sure it is long enuff.

I've never had to do that before. What equipment is absolutely necessary? Is doing the seam easy?: I've fixed up a few houses for extra money and always used same carpet guys. It looks like they use carpet tape and an iron. But I have seen the difference between they guys with and without experience. You might want to have someone take this room on for ya.

Generally, if something says washable, it means machine washable. Go to the JC Penney site and look for your rug. The larger ones have to be washed in a large commercial washer. If you do the smaller ones at home, I would wash two at a time to keep the washer balanced.

Q: my mom wants to get a big but not too big or expense dragon rug. Where can she get it online? That really looks like a dragon? every time my mom searches for dragons rug on the computer she gets weird and not dragon rugs or even close to it. We live in a small town so the stores around here do not any dragon anythings. sO where can she find one that is worth the prices and the right size and looks like a real dragon and not a blob?: Why not design and create it yourself. Rug hooking is simple enough, and their are sites that can give you other ideas for making rugs.

Q: The floor is pretty beat up in some of the rooms and between having a baby and preparing for a deployment I don't know if we're going to be able to fix it properly in the near future so I want to prevent further damage with rugs and runners.Anyway, I want to put runners and rugs down in the heavy traffic areas. Couple of questions:Do you know of a good store/website that has matching rugs and runners for reasonable prices?Also, we plan to put the runners on stairs ourselves, which are all wood also (they are straight and all the stairs are uniform in size so it shouldn't be a problem ... it's a three-story-house) but we were wondering if we can just buy a runners to do this or do we have to buy special runners specifically made for staircases? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!: I think you should keep your dark wood furniture. It'd be a waste just to buy new things when you already have them. If it just does't look right paint the walls a colour that would make your furniture and floors go good together. Try adding some accessories that match your furniture and floors and keeps the focus of anything that doesn't match. Hope you find your answer!
