Q: If landlord was to replace carpet with our security deposit does it, by some type of law or anything in Florida, have to be of equal or lesser value than the carpet originally in there? Or can he just get really fancy carpet and charge us up the ***?: He can buy whatever carpet he wants.

That's the laziest thing I've ever heard. Carpet adhesive can't be removed from carpeting, you have to tear it all out and replace it. Keep going and see if you hit hardwood floors, much better looking.

Keep doing it until there is no tangible oil. Then take Dawn. Pour it right on, let it set and then scrub scrub scrub. If you have a wet vac, vacuum up the water so the carpet and pads don't get moldy. If you don't, try to borrow or rent one. Good luck.

For many years I used Commercial carpet in my snake cages. I had several pieces cut to fit. WHen one got soiled I would just remove it and put in another one. When I got a stack of dirty ones I would wait until she wasn't home and throw them in the washer/dryer. They clean up like new and last for years. Been married 37 years and she has no clue!
