- Q: Hi everyone,I attempted to build my first PC; purchased the hardware, software, etc. Everything is assembled perfectly. After installing the motherboard, power supply and the respective cards, I connect the power cable.Upon connecting the power cable, the PC turns on and the only way to turn it off is to remove the power cable (from the back of the PSU). The PC boots up as if I pressed the power button!!I've read that this problem could be the power supply or the capacitors on the board??I'd be appreciative for any advice,Thanks,p
- Hmm that sounds like you have missplaced the cables to the motherboard from the front pannel (on switch, HDD led etc.) Kenny
- Q: Asus Motherboard: P7P55D-E ProIntel CPU: Core i5-750 Quad-Core Desktop LGA1156BFG Tech Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 512 MBPower Supply: Thermaltake TR2 600WRAM: PNY 2GB DDR3 PC3-10666 1333MHzHD: Seagate 320GBTitle says it all. I've google my heart out looking for answers. Many say maybe power supply is bad. I tested my old PS and it still doesn't work. Try new Cable. Try every RAM slot. Made sure my CPU is nice and tight. Sigh...headache....headache.
- First thing be sure the CPU cooler has thermal paste between CPU and cooler. Second thing be sure the ALL fans are running properly. Re-seat RAM and power cables. Disconnect all extra items. If you have only add-on video card leave it in. Test it with only vid/CPU/RAM connected to rule out other items. If it stays running then one piece at a time plug in the add-on's after you power off. Then turn on after each item and test to see if it runs. Hope this helps, is a place to start at the least.
- Q: I wanted to buy this card: What power cables will it need? Thanks in advance
- You don't need any power cables. The board gets power from the mother board. You need a PCI-Express slot on your mother board. If you're asking about video cables to the monitor, it says in the listing... Interfaces 2 x DVI-I - 29 pin combined DVI , 1 x HDMI - 19 pin HDMI Type A , 2 x DisplayPort - Apple mini-DisplayPort You only need one of these unless you are running more than 1 monitor. I would look on your monitor and see what connections you have. (2) DVI-1 is common is older stuff, (1) HDMI is the newest technology and common for HDTV, (2) Apple ports for Apple enabled monitors.
- Q: need to buy for sharp aquas 52 inch flat screen
- It's a universal AC power cord. The same one you would use for most other flat panels, desktop pcs, and the PS3. Go to your local Best Buy. They have them in 2 places: Playstation 3 accessories or the PC cable isle in Computers. $10 give or take a couple bucks.
- Q: I bought a LG Plasma TV, it comes with 3 Ferrite cores, two of them is a little bigger than the diameter of the power plug and it's not tight on it and one is small, is it effective to but the bigger one one the power cable?
- They should be tight or glue to the cable. Many cheap made products ignoring this simple process to speed time consume to produce more. Because those workers were paid by piece work.
- Q: why is power cable not recognized by notebook?
- This most likely isn't a windows 7 problem at all. It's more likely there would be some damage to the internals of your power cable at some place. Usually if there is, it's in the connecting end or the power conversion box. I would try a replacement cable first if you can. If you don't' have one, take it to a pc shop and see if they can use a test adaptor. If theirs works, it's the adaptor. If theirs doesn't, it's then more likely the power port on your pc is damaged.
- Q: when i start up the laptop it works fine ,when the power cable is plugged in the lights will flash sometimes and the laptop will not recognise that it is plugged in. i have bought a new adaptor and this is still happening, any help would be great
- I would say that jack that the power cord plugs into has come loose from the motherboard. It may at times have enough of a connection to work at some times. To confirm this, you could gently wiggle the power cord and see if it shows it is working on AC power. To fix this you will have to have it soldered back on. I have sold many Acer laptops, they are more reliable then many other brands.
- Q: I bought a power wire off a dealer and in order to connect it to the battery I don't have the little fuse box at the end like most people have. Is this necessary for installation? Cause my friend said it might cause a fire..im no expert?
- The fuse isnt mandatory but its a good thing to have if your drawing alot of power then you will need it ive blown like 4 then i upgraded no more blown fuses but ya you should get one
- Q: THE PROBLEM IS THE POWER CABLES HAVE 20 PINS AND THE ENTRANCE OF THE MOTHERBOARD HAS 22! SO HOW DO I HAVE TO CONNECT IT?
- Tips to fix it! 1.Turn off CAPS lock 2.Count the number of pins on the motherboard. You will find there to be 24 not 22 3.Go online or drive to radioshack or someplace 4.Buy a 20 to 24 pin converter 5.Install converter 6.Plug it in to the motherboard
- Q: I'm trying to install a GeForce GTX 460. It came with a supplemental power supply cord, one end goes into the card, and there are 2 heads on the other end, and i can only find 1 place to plug in a single head into my power supply... When i turn the computer on the fan on the card turns on so i assume enough power is being given to the card, yet when i log in and put in the Installation disk, it says quot;not foundquot;... i already locked the card in, and i tried re adjusting the card multiple times but that doesn't do anything so i'm sure putting in the card incorrectly isn't the case. help! :(
- If your power supply doesn't have a single PCIe Power Connector or 2 standard MOLEX(4pin) connectors to attach the adapter to I'm sure your way under powering your card. especially if your computer isn't a gaming rig or self built it probably only came with nearly the minimum power supply needed for the OEM parts already installed.
