- Having it professionally cleaned is your best best.. Rented cleaners don t have the power to always extract all the cleaner out and it will soon get dirty and matte down again. Some carpets won t be helped by a steam clean since not all carpets have heat set fibers so a steam clean wont reset the fibers plus age and if the carpet doesn t have a matte and crush warranty it just mattes down. - Q: Is there a formula that you can tell how many feet are on a roll of Carpet without having to unroll and measure it?
- I'm sure you could figure it out, but it would depend on a lot of variables (i.e. total diameter of roll, width of carpet, etc). Would probably be much easier to unroll it in all honesty.

- No. The fur will turn into a lumpy, matted mess. Take it to a dry cleaners. They'll charge you about $20, but it will come back like new. I had a small sheepskin that I got for my dogs to lie on and, of course, they got it pretty stinky. I washed it in the washing machine and it came out all matted and tangled. I also had a larger sheepskin rug that I sent to a dry cleaners and it came back like new.

- Q: I installed laminate flooring in our living room this past weekend and where the laminate meets the carpet in our bedroom there is about 1 inch of a height difference.Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
- If the carpet is that much higher ( not uncommon for laminate) you should have built up the laminate before hand. Not much you can do now. That correct transition pc is a carpet bar made for laminate. DO NOT use any metal pc between the to as some people suggested. The metal will make noises as it rubs against the laminate. - Q: Ok so i want to get new carpet in my basement and on the Home Depot website it says that youcan get any size carpet for only $139, but idk if this includes taking the old carpet out. If not, then how would i do that, and/or how much will it cost???
- The ad is to install the carpet, not purchase. You'd have to ask Home Depot if the install also includes removal and haul away. It may not for a special deal. Removal can be fairly easy if the carpet was not glued to the floor. The easy way is to peel back a corner. Tack strips are thin slat with grippers nailed to the floor that have spikes on the top to grip the carpet. Once you get it off once section, the carpet is easily taken up. However, get a carpet knife and cut them into sections for easier handling. Often the carpet is NOT under the baseboard, but right at the bottom. Letting a putty knife or screw driver under there will probably loosen it. Remove the carpet and the pad.......pads are cheap and you want a fresh clean start. If the carpet is glued down.......well, you'll need a heavy duty flat scraper and start scraping. You'll also need a carpet glue solvent and plenty of open windows...at least. You may need breathing protection, getting the birds out of the house, etc.
