Q: What color of the carpet looks good to match with white tiles?
Which is white grey, with a small amount of impurity spots, or black and white color
Q: I have a rug that I need to wash but it says I need to front load wash it but I have a top load. If I top load wash it will it mess it up or will it be okay?
It depends on the size of the rug. I would say anything bigger than a 4 X 6 rug should not be washed in a top loader.
Q: I sopped it up with paper towels... should I do more? Will it ruin the carpet? Also, I'm getting a new puppy tomorrow... I don't want the nail polish remover in the carpet to poison it if he licks the carpet...
I would suggest renting a carpet washer to clean up any excess. Polish remover does evaporate though, so you may notice a lot more of the smell in the air as it does if you don't clean the carpet. Polish remover - especially acetone polish remover - is a solvent and if the carpet is synthetic, it may cause it to break down and melt, though you'd probably have noticed that effect already. I know that it will dissolve certain finishes on wood surfaces though...
Q: I have puppy pee stains on my carpet and i want to get it clean, i do have a upright carpet cleaner(bissel)what will work best?
I have a kitten who was sick and vomited all over my carpet. I used odor eaters carpet cleaner and it worked really good at getting the stains out
Q: I WON RED CARPET PASSES AND I WAS WONDERING YOU ANYONE KNEW WHAT quot;RED CARPET PASSESquot; ARE! ARE THEY TO WALK THE CARPET OR ARE THEY TO SIT ON THE SIDE? PLEASE LET ME KNOW! THANX!
im sorry idk! but im pretty sure that if you go early enough then you can stand on the side and see all the celebs but idk if there is anything where you can walk the carpet cause like i think thats ONLY for celebs but idk! sorry! :(
Q: I'm considering renting a house. So I can't make any permanent changes. The house has carpet in the living room but not the bedrooms. I would like to install some carpet in the bedrooms, but someone told me I would have to glue it down. Is there a way to install carpet without having any effect on the real wood floors beneath?
You can loose lay a carpet over the wood but w/o a special mat under the carpet it will still ruin the wood. In your case your best off to invest in some area rugs and still use this mat that allows the wood to breathe and keeps the rug from bunching and slipping. When you move your area rug goes with you. Loose lay carpet , you can have the edges bound to keep it from fraying.but this special mat is still needed to keep the rough action back from scratching the wood and to not stain it. Never use a double sided tape to hold carpet or rugs in place, it leaves a residue that is hard to remove and may stain the wood too. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: What material of the domestic carpet is better?
wool carpet is better. domestic carpet should be warm and comfortable, also can adjust the indoor temperature and humidity, every time you come home, you will feel particularly warm. wool has natural resilience, besides a warm wool carpet has sound-absorbing effect.
Q: I have a rug that will not stay put.I have tried the special stuff that they sell to put under rugs to help keep them from slipping. It didn't work.I have dried this special spray stuff that works kind of like the scrapbook glue that you can you can move about. It makes it like a restickable sticker. The sticky wears off quickly though.I have even tried putting felt on the back. That didn't work either. The floor I have it on it my bathroom floor. The tile in there is cheap. It is like the tile on the school floors. (I live in an apartment so I have no choice in that matter.) Part of the problem is also that my cats play tag and the rug seems to be base.Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep this rug from slipping so much?
contact paper. (like for in cabinets) it will grip the carpet and the floor without any adhesives. can be bought at any hardware store
Q: I'm changing the decor of my room. I have 2 dark blue throw rugs that wont match anymore. Instead of buying new ones, I was thinking of bleaching them, then dying them black. Will that work? if so how can I bleach them? I was going to put them in a tote with bleach and water but im not sure how much bleach and how much water I should use.
I would forego the bleach step, because it can damage fibers if you use enough bleach to remove the color. Plus, it takes a lot more dye to dye a light color dark. As long as the rugs are natural fiber, I would just dye over the dark blue with black; you should get a richer, darker color black rather than a more greyed-out color.
Q: Does anyone know of a carpet steamer that leaves little or no detergent residue? I want to buy a steamer, but have been warned that most have the usual problem of leaving too much residue that makes carpets easier to soil.
My mom used to rent and now owns Rug Doctor. It works perfectly and cleans the carpets pretty swettly. You should give it a try. Just remember that the rug will be wet for a couple of hours so let air flow through your house to allow it to dry quickly
