- Is this exactly how the problem is worded. or are you missing some details or making a typo (like the area of 2 rugs being 240 and not 24) ? what do you mean by combined. I assume, if you have 3 rugs with areas(R1, R2, R3) then I wonder if the combined area is R1+R2+R3 = 200 or R1R2R3=200 (since R1+R2 =24). when you say the area covered by exactly two rugs is 24 does this mean that the RUGs are separated. Do you want to know the area of the RUGs overlapped or separated.

- ikea is HORRIBLE for rugs. Ignore the first person. Go anywhere that is NOT a department store or large outlet geared towards the masses. I had a couple of outstanding purchases from our local rug store. Internet shopping was very difficult, although we did get some excellent finds on OKorder althought took 1 rug burn to know what to look for when purchasing online.

- you must REPLACE the carpet because mold spores are very dangerous to humans/pets. Spray area down with bleach before laying new carpet. Probably from air conditioning unit (cause of leak).
- Q: bought a hookah to celebrate turning 19, and my cat knocked over the hookah while we were smoking. Lets just say there is a nickle sized burn in the carpet. Is there ANYTHING I can do? - Cut out the burnt section and glue in a piece of scrap carpet! Go to a carpet store and get a carpet repair tool. They're only a few bucks. Some adhesive disks and carpet glue. Now take your cutting tool and cut out the damaged section. Be careful to not cut through the carpet fibers themselves. Next cut a replacement section from the donor carpet also being careful not to cut the carpet fibers. Next you will peel off the cover on the adhesive disk and place it in the empty hole. Now put some glue around the edge of the hole and insert your patch trying to match the grain of the carpet. (Carpet has a distinct grain). Press the patch firmly into place and put a weight on top of the area. Let it dry at least twenty four hours before putting the carpet to use.

- Don t use anything other than a rug shampoo. These are specially made to be low suds since its hard t get out of a rug. An left over shampoo actually attracts dirt so rinse well and get as much water out as possible so rug dries faster.GL
