- I wouldn't recommend the washing machine; repti-carpet is basically just felt material and can easily become destroyed in a washing machine. Personally, I take some hot water in a large mixing bowl and some Dawn dish soap and wash the carpet by hand. I usually let it soak for a while to help loosen any debris before scrubbing. Then I rinse it well and let it air dry. Easy and works like a charm.

- Well, maybe you could try putting the cat litter box on the rug. I don't know why she would do that, but cats are sometimes very odd animals. When I was a little girl, my cat always peed in my barbie doll swimming pool so my mother finally had to fill it up with cat litter lol. You don't know how much soap and clorox wipes we went through at that time lol, but eventally he stopped so hopefully your kitty will stop soon too.

- Don t use anything other than a rug shampoo. These are specially made to be low suds since its hard t get out of a rug. An left over shampoo actually attracts dirt so rinse well and get as much water out as possible so rug dries faster.GL
