FAQ
Q: What's the difference with cyclonic to multi-cyclonic filtration system?
Multi-cyclonic is where the dust container has a plastic filter section inside and has many little tunnels in it that separate the finer dust and dirt for the next filter and there is no HEPA filter in the middle plastic filter section.
Cyclonic filtration is where there is a central HEPA filter that sits inside the dust container and catches the finer dust.
Q: My vacuum just stopped while I was using it! What do I do now?
All of our vacuum cleaners have been fitted with a thermal safety cut-off switch which activates to stop the motor from burning out. When it does that it will prevent the unit from turning on again until it has cooled sufficiently to reset, which is between 2 – 4 hrs. The most common reason for safety cut-off switch activated is the filters needs to be cleaned. Please read the instruction manual and follow the instructions on how to clean the filters.
- Q:Please read further to answer question. 10 points for best answerYou are comparing two vacuum cleaners in an appliance store and notice that one israted at 120V, 9 Amp while the other is rated at 120V, 12 Amp.WHY?
- Which one carries the highest electrical current? A - The 12 amp one because 12 amp 9 amps! Duh! Which one has the highest resistance? A - The 9 amp one has the higher resistance. R = voltage/current Duh!
- Q:I have 4 cats and my vacuum recently broke. It wasn't all that good with picking up cat hair anyways. Can you suggest good vacuum cleaners for cat hair under $200? The attachments aren't a big deal to me and probably would be more of a hassle. Looking for something with easy disposable and strong suction. Thanks
- if you want a good vacuumm for pets it is going to cost much much more than 200 bux.
- Q:What's wrong with it.I changed the bag and dug everything out of the bottom, got a bunch of stuff out but it still isn't working?
- Maybe the beater brush isn't turning or the passage in the power head is clogged. Try removing the power head from the pipe and looking down into it to see if you can see light (or the clog). If the power head isn't clogged, maybe the pipe or hose has something jammed. Try turning it around and place it up to the suction port backwards, turn the vacuum on and see if it will pull it out that way. An old trick on vacuum cleaners is to put your hand over the end of the pipe to see if there's suction - if not, then the hose or some other passage is clogged, or there's an opening in the vacuum chamber section (door not fully closed or seated?) that's allowing air in where it shouldn't be getting in. If the hose isn't clogged, you'll feel suction and the hose may also contract, and the motor will speed up noticeably when you block the pipe with your hand.
- Q:Why do vacuum cleaners have lights on the front, do they expect you to vacuum at night?
- I actually asked a sales man this question once and his answer seemed resonable. He said that light is for areas of your room that have low lightshadows and such. For example, behind a couch or under tables. I never vacuum those areas so I had no idea. It is helpful once I put it to the test. The light needs to be a little brighter on my Kenmore. My Dyson (newer one) does not have a light....I dont think.
- Q:this is for a school project - i can't find the answer anywhere else. please help me
- Home vacuum cleaners? Try different brands. Oreck, for instance. Just google their name. In fact, I think they still make their vacuum cleaners in the US. Most other brands probably manufacture in China although their corporate headquarters could be in the US. To find other names, just google something like vacuum cleaners buy You'll get a list of companies. Then google the companies' names to find their headquarters. Or go down to KMart etc. and look for the origin of manufacture on the machines. Look for the word China.
- Q:I desperately need a small canister vacuum as my husband and I are disabled and they are very easy to use. Also has to be reasonably priced, new or used.
- OKorder has some good deals on canister vacuum cleaners. The shopping channels (hsn and qvc) also have some and you don't have to pay for it all at once if you don't want to. Don't forget to check your local discount stores and Walmart's, their prices are hard to beat. If you are interested in buying used, your local thrift shops might have some. If you are in the USA, there are social services that could help with the expense and delivery if necessary. The 411 helpline could give you more resources. Best wishes.
- Q:I have a Eureka canister, model 1620 B. I am trying to find HEPA bags for the canister. Eureka no longer makes quot;type Squot;, but I have found Hoover quot;type SHEPA bags and am wondering if they are compatible.

- Q:I have two dogs who shed like CRAZY and I have blue carpet and their fur sticks out and my vacuum just is not picking it up. What vacuum works the best?
- My favorite vacuum by far is Oreck. I have owned ours now for 7 years and it still works great! I loathe bagless vacuums because the dirt STILL has to be bagged and dumping the canister into another bag was horrid. The dirt and dust goes airborne creating a bigger problem than you start with! Oreck bags are worth every penny. They have a special way of sealing as you pull them out of the machine. I could go on and on. I love my Oreck. You can visit any Oreck store for a live demonstration. Just tell them you window shopping for vacuums. :) No I don't work for them. I'm just a happy homemaker who finally found a great vacuum! :)
- Q:Hello, I'm thinking of purchasing Dirt Devil Vision vacuum cleaner that has a HEPA filter. I realize those filters are very expensive....how long do they last? (in terms of years, and in terms of how many times you emptied the cup approx).I'm new to vacuum cleaners, open to suggestions! Thanks! (100-200 price range)
- I ran a housekeeping business for quite a few years and have tried many vacs. The cons to bagless vacs where you have to empty the cup/dirt container and clean the filter are... While the cups are usually easy to empty, the pleated filters are not and the dirt must be removed from them often for the vac to get enough suction. They are difficult, dirty and dusty to fool with. I started cleaning them with the hose attachment from an upright bagged vac. Just suck the filter clean with another vac. Not very convenient, needing 2 vacs. I always opt for bagged vacs now. They work great and you do not have to spend alot. Most are lightweight too. Buy the better bags that are thicker and keep the smallest particles from escaping. When full, remove and toss in the trash. Hardly messy at all. You should be able to spend under $100. Look for something lightweight and not bulky. I actually prefer to have two vac. An upright and a canister. The canister should be bagged also and lightweight. Canisters work so much better than uprights on hard floors and for edging and furniture. Then use the upright on carpets and large rugs. Do some thorough research before buying. Then save your receipts in case you get one home and are not satisfied.
- Q:what is the fear of vacuum cleaners getting near your feet called? because idk why but every time a vcuum comes near my feet i flinch and have a mini heartattack.... anyone wanna tell me? (:
- There does not appear to be a scientific term to specifically describe a fear of vacuums. Perhaps the fear stems from the loud noise the equipment makes or anxiety that you might lose something valuable while you operate it, a dropped wedding ring for example. The suction capability of most vaccuums is not enough to cause serious injury, but it may be enough to cause you to worry. Traumatophobia is the fear of injury. Ligyrophobia is the fear of loud noises.
