Q: What's the difference with cyclonic to multi-cyclonic filtration system?

Multi-cyclonic is where the dust container has a plastic filter section inside and has many little tunnels in it that separate the finer dust and dirt for the next filter and there is no HEPA filter in the middle plastic filter section.

Cyclonic filtration is where there is a central HEPA filter that sits inside the dust container and catches the finer dust.

Q: My vacuum just stopped while I was using it! What do I do now?

All of our vacuum cleaners have been fitted with a thermal safety cut-off switch which activates to stop the motor from burning out. When it does that it will prevent the unit from turning on again until it has cooled sufficiently to reset, which is between 2 – 4 hrs. The most common reason for safety cut-off switch activated is the filters needs to be cleaned. Please read the instruction manual and follow the instructions on how to clean the filters.

Q: anyone know how well the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum works?: I don't know about that one. I do have a suggestion if you can afford to spend a little more money though. The Dyson vacuum cleaners are excellent. We have one and have three cats and a dog and it really does a great job.

Q: I was conversing with a person in the vacuum industry and was informed that they were a bucket of s.h.i.t so don't be fooled by the marketing.: Everyone has their preferences, that's what makes a horserace. I've been in the vac repair business for over 35 years, started out with Electrolux, which at that time was one of the best built, longest lasting, best cleaning machines in the industry. They were 98% American built, using American parts in an American city, by American workers. I've repaired and refurbished, rebuilt, just about every possible brand and type of vacuum, steam cleaner, floor scrubber you can name and the one thing that always seemed to stick in my craw about Dyson, is the flat out, bald faced lies that the bonehead who appears on TV and claims to have designed the thing spouts. He always says, It can't clog and lose suction because it has no filters. BUNK! I know of at least 3 filters that are available for Dyson's, (you know, the one that doesn't have any filters to clog). That's pretty much the problem with all bagless cleaners. They MUST be filtered someway, or the dust would be pulled through the motor and be pushed out the exhaust, simple physics. One other thing while we're debunking here, the powdered stuff you sprinkle on the carpet and then sweep up to make them smell nice and fresh, will ruin your vacuum. It's like sucking up flour, or plaster dust. It plugs the pores of the bags used to catch it, or the filters on the bagless units, either way it deprives the motor of the air flow it needs to stay cool enough to last.

Q: My vacuum cleaner makes my house smell every time I use it. Its a brand new vacuum. I've tried vacuuming up baking soda but that didn't work. Please help.: First see if you need a new bag or to empty out the collection area. Rather than baking soda at the food store in the cleaning area they should have stuff you can shake on your floor then vacuum up. Mom did this once and it smelled good for a few weeks after too each time she vaccumed.

Q: vacuum, air cleaners. Duribilaty, usuages, warrentys, etc.: They are terribly overrated. I would never put that much money in a vac.

Q: I'm trying to find a good deal on a Dyson. I know I've seen them on sale in the past...and Target once had a deal where if you bought one, you'd get a $100 gift card.: Usually before Christmas and then in February.

Q: Any one have any idea what it is or how much it will cost to have it repaired. (VA./ D.C. area): All Miele vacuum cleaners have an over-heating sensor built in. It should activate, shutting off the power, when the motor gets too hot. Usually this happens because there is a clog in the hose or the vacuum itself, which causes the motor to overheat. Disconnect the suction hose. Turn the vacuum on. Put your fingers over the intake. If it feels like the suction is great and the motor sound happy, reconnect the hose. If the motor sounds unhappy (whining, grumbling, acting like this is hard work), you have a clog. Either take it to a vacuum repair shop or research vacuum clog and take it from there. (A coat-hanger often works).

Q: I understand that all Dyson vacuums go on sale everywhere that sells them at the same time.Thanks in advance.: I bought mine at Lowe's it was not advertised as being on sale, I saved over 100.00. When I went to the front it range up on sale (they are very good, I love mine )

Q: How have machines been harmful AND helpful to our society?: Well they create more pollution and cause people to lose jobs sometimes. But they do make our lives easier. I'm glad I don't need to hand wash the clothing for example. Also they save lives like MRI machines, xrays, and so on.
