- Q:I cant find the power cable for this CRT monitor I have, But I have this power cable from an LCD monitor. Would it work if I put the LCD monitor power cable in the CRT monitor? Will it fry the CRT if I try?
- No. It should work.
- Q:trying to install new amplifier; running cable from battery through firewall to the trunk; done on several cars before; looking for advice or best practices...
- in addition to what ed said. if you drill through a firewall or bulkhead install a grommet or use a piece of rubber tubing [hose] to protect the wire. also make sure that where you drill, nothing is behind it. ruining your evaporator or heater core normally means that the dash will have to come out for repairs on most cars ,nothing cheap here.and pinching cable around a hinge or other movable part is begging for a fire. i see this sort of crap all the time and i wonder how these owners get up and down the road without hurting someone or themselves. take your time and don't cheap the job out, most cases another twenty minutes and 5.00 dollars of parts would have resulted in a solid installation instead of a burned out hulk.
- Q:I blew 2 fuses in my amp in my car, i have replaced them both, one was a 30amp and the other a 20. The 30 amp was an inline fuse from the battery to the amp and the 20 amp was a standard 20 amp fuse in the amp. As i said i replaced both fuses and try the amp again and it wouldnt go. There is a LED light on the top just lighting up a logo, when i attatch the power from the battery the light goes off and when i disconnect it the light comes on. When i dissconect the power the red light for diagnose comes on.
- sounds like the power wire might be exposed somewhere and its shorting the system
- Q:I bought a Garmin GPS, but my cigarette lighter is near my gear shift. Does anyone know how to add a power cable so the cable is behind the gps on the window?. I can always take it somewhere for about $100.
- Here's what you can do. Assuming that the Garmin has a MICRO USB port on the back, get a MICRO and MINI USB cable from Tiger electronics. The cable will have MICRO on one end, and MINI on the other. Next, get a Belkin USB adapter for a cigarette lighter. Next, go to a car stereo shop, and get a FEMALE end of a 12 volt power supply Next, get an add a circuit fusible tap (make sure you note if you have mini or regular blade fuses), get the right one. Using your owner's manual, find a fuse circuit that is switchable by ignition (the cigarette lighter one would work). Pull that fuse, and make sure you have the another one for the add a circuit. 12-18 is always best. Crimp the add a circuit tap to the female end of the 12 volt power supply. Find a clean ground, usually a screw on the fuseblock. Attach the ground wire using a loop spade tighten the screw down. Reinstall the add a circuit Turn ignition on, GPS should work Clean up the cable usually around the trim where the windshield meets the frame.
- Q:Its a Extreme power plus 700w the U.S.A and Canadian type.
- It depends on where you will be using it. The adapters' female end will accept U.S. power cords. However, the male end will not be usable in U.S. electrical receptacles. If you are planning to travel to Australia or live there, then you are golden. However, if you live in the United Stated, then it is useless without an additional adapter. - Q:hi i need to connect a extra cd rom drive to my computer and dont have enough 4 pin power cables in my computer how would i get those and how would i install those. Thanks
- It is self explanatory on how to operate. Plug and play.
- Q:I got a free graphics card from my cousin and my computer only has the SATA slots for graphic cards and the one he gave me has the 4 Pin cable. Is there anyway to get it converted or any cables that can go from 4 Pin to sata? I wanna see how this graphics card goes when its working fully.
- Check okorder ... I was flat out unable to find a SATA to 6-pin cable. To put it bluntly, I'm surprised the card works at all without that addition power line.
- Q:I installed a new Power supply after my old one stopped working. I bought a Thermaltake TR2 500W. I connected everything that needed to be connected but it would not turn on. Then i disconnected the 4pin cable that goes to the motherboard, and it turned on. But my monitor didn't detect anything so it just went into quot;sleep modequot;. So every time i connect the 4 pin PCI-E connection to the motherboard it just doesn't turn on. Please help
- You might have a DOA power supply or motherboard. It might just have problems with the connections. Sounds like the problem is the motherboard if 2 power supplies dont work on it. I would consider getting a new motherboard.
- Q:I need to know if the power light on the amp will turn on if I don't have the RCA cables hooked up or if you have to have them hooked up just to get power to the amp? I was just wondering because I just hooked up an amp and I can't get the power to come on, and I'm pretty sure the power, ground, and remote wire is hooked up good, it's the RCA cables i'm thinking is messed up, but would the power light come on even if those wasn't hooked up?
- Most Amplfier will turn on without the rca cables, but some might not. Its really a matter of chance. =)
- Q:Looks like a SATA power cable was pulled out of the hard drive without the button being pressed in and has broken tiny bits of the plastic above the Hard Drive connector that used to prevent the SATA cable from slipping out. Any suggestions on what I can do?
- Tape or a new hard drive.
