Q: There have been severe storms in my country Kenya and power lines have fallen and caused a lot of injuries, some fatal to pedestrians, motorists and others.I am sure if power lines were covered with rubber sheathing or some other apopropriatde material, there would be less likelihood of electrocution, serious injury, fire or property damage. I am a lay person in these matters so I am talking from what I have seen. Thanks in advance.
One small addition to what has been said above, and that seem to have been forgotten: When a power cable breaks and falls to the ground, it acts exactly like a whip! It does not matter if it were covered with feathers, the simple whipping force would STILL cut a car in two... (I have seen a cable cutting a HOUSE in two!)
Q: Power cable yjv22-10kv-3 * 50 what it means
Yj is cross-linked polyethylene insulation, v PVC sheathed 22 is double steel tape armored, voltage 10KV, 50 square three-core copper cable
Q: I need to know if the power light on the amp will turn on if I don't have the RCA cables hooked up or if you have to have them hooked up just to get power to the amp? I was just wondering because I just hooked up an amp and I can't get the power to come on, and I'm pretty sure the power, ground, and remote wire is hooked up good, it's the RCA cables i'm thinking is messed up, but would the power light come on even if those wasn't hooked up?
If you have the amp hooked up without rca cables thats where the problems coming from
Q: the cable for my psp wont plug all the way in anymore so i cant charge it. nothing has happened to the psp. it wasnt dropped or anything, just sat on the table. same with the power cord.anyone else have this problem and if so what did u do about it.and if your thinking about saying quot;contact sonyor anything like that...just leave. i can figure that out for myself ok.
MMMM. im not sure i think you might need to buy a new one if you try to force it in you might break something
Q: I have solid interconnects and speaker cable, but I was perplexed by the notion that the power cable that comes with your power source and preamp is somehow inadequate. It seems like another thing to try to market and sell to unsuspecting enthusiasts of an expensive hobby.
I agree. In my view if a power cable can make an audible difference it would only be if absolutely everything else were perfect ... which it never is. Assuming (a BIG assumption) that all electronics are perfect, before a power cable could possibly have any audible impact the power would have to be pristeen ... requiring a multi $thousand power conditioner. And this ignores the MUCH more important impact of room resonances, etc. which, unless you have perfectly tuned the room with bass traps, absorbtion panels, etc won't be the case. Expecting an audible improvement from a power cable is like expecting that leather seats will make a car accelerate faster when the windows are open! I can think of dozens of ways to better benefit from the $100+ one would spend on one of these special cables. I suspect that people that buy them believe in the tooth fairy, God and horoscopes too.
Q: Is it? I leave the power cable for hours when at home, when letting it process video and such and sometimes drain the battery when not used much. Thanks for any help.
When I first bought my laptop I tried to research this. Keep the battery in and keep the ac adapter hooked up. Use the ac adapter and take the battery out. Just charge with the ac adapter and run off the battery when fully charged. Everybody had an opinion on what to do. The confusing thing is that they all made sense. So I decided to stop driving myself nuts. I leave the battery in. The ac adapter is always hooked up. I leave my laptop on pretty much 24/7 and have done so for over a year now. Once a month as part of my maintenance I unplug the ac adapter and let the battery run down till the warning pops up. Plug it back in and do the same next month. I keep track of how long the battery lasts without the ac adapter on. It always charges back to 100% and if the life is decreasing it is so minimal that I am not noticing. Is this right or wrong? Depends on who you ask. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
Q: I blew 2 fuses in my amp in my car, i have replaced them both, one was a 30amp and the other a 20. The 30 amp was an inline fuse from the battery to the amp and the 20 amp was a standard 20 amp fuse in the amp. As i said i replaced both fuses and try the amp again and it wouldnt go. There is a LED light on the top just lighting up a logo, when i attatch the power from the battery the light goes off and when i disconnect it the light comes on. When i dissconect the power the red light for diagnose comes on.
This sounds like a wiring problem i reccomend you completly inspect all wiring to your amp if looks fine then use a test light and test all the wiring if all passes then your problem is within the amp itself. test the remote wire with stereo to car on if wired that way.
Q: The only thing that im worried about is that my PC power cable has three little slots where you plug it into the brick and my brick only has 2 slots, th cord still fits and powers up my xbox 360 but im just worried about it quot;fryingmy new system. Thanx
Don't do it. The power brick is what powers the console and you need it to properly run it smoothly. Just get a power brick. If you don't have one, go on OKorder.
Q: Im not very good with computers but I wanna buy Radeon hd 6850 graphic card, I have a 500 watt psu but I heard I need a 6 pin cable which my psu doesnt have. Can I use a 6 Pin PCI Express Video Card Power Cable Adapter?
Maybe. Some smaller PSUs don't have the right power rails (the way power is distributed to the wires) to do that for a power hungry card. Maybe, but I doubt it, considering the other stuff it must run. Bigger supplies have the correct wire harness for your card.
Q: My Xbox 360's power supply cord is very loosely connected. I've tried to push it with force, didn't go further. Games lag a bit (GTA IV, for example) at graphically expensive situations. Simplier games like Limbo and Worms run without any problems. I think my console suffers from voltage drop because cable isn't properly connected.Power cord looked like this already when I connected my console for the first time. Now my Xbox 360 S is only couple of days old. Please tell me what your consoles look like. Power supply's light is also orange. Not yellow, not red - orange.
It's not possible to drop voltage as you said. It's either connected, or it's not. The power won't wain. It just won't work at all if not properly inserted. But if the power cord won't seat properly in a brand new console, you're still under warranty. I'd get it replaced if I were you..
