- Q: I have pets. Is it okay to have a solid floor, like tile or terrazo, on my living room floor and just put a big rug on it instead of carpet? Do you thik that will hurt the resale value of the home?
- Carpet is a matter of taste. In many cases there is a allowance given by the seller of a home to a buyer for carpet. Very seldom does a buyer keep the carpets installed by I seller. I've even seen a seller install new carpet just to have the buyer rip it all out before they move in. Save your money and buy a through rug.
- Q: they are 4months old, a boy girl, fixed.they keep scratching and pulling up the edges so that its coming up in strings/scrunched threads. I've tried blocking the area with objects, and a scratching post, b4 but they just go behind it somehow or go find somewhere else to pull up the rug. i've tried to remove them from the area when they do and say things like no off..but of course being cats they dont listen to me :(how can i make them stop????????????? any help would be amazing! thanks in advance!!

- Try by puttting them down and be careful where u walk. We have new carpet and my parents put down these clear coverings over them and they don't move and the carpet is clean. It works even if u stamp ur feet on them.
- Q: My couch is black leather. I have a glass top coffe table with black legs. My tv is black, and the TV stand is black w/ a very dark wood. Also some other dark wooden misc peices that match. I want to paint the walls a fire engine red to make the room pop, but I also need a rug. I've been searching every store everywhere, but NOTHING seems to match. - I would never do the room fire engine red......I would do it tomato soup red which is good enough to make it pop without it being to loud. Try Pier One for a rug

- Sisal area rugs are simple to clean using mild dishwashing detergent and water. To do this, take the rug outdoors. Dip a brush in a detergent solution to clean the entire surface, and rinse with a hose. Hang the rug up to dry in the sun. But be sure it dries quickly and completely. Damp, natural fiber rugs will mildew and eventually disintegrate.

- Q: I have a floor rug - it's about 5 ft * 3 - and I don't know how to clean it. I know I can like shake it out, but can I use carpet cleaner on it? Thanks and I apologize for the lame question. :)
- If you can't afford to get it professionally clean at this time, then take a scrub brush with full britzels, and a bucket of hot soapy water with a hint of bleach( Only if its a very light color rug) and scrub. If you have a Multi color rug, then buy some Resolve carpet cleaner(the foam bottle).
- Q: I want to make a bathroom rug/mat for around the toilet with a piece of carpet. how can I cut the carpet in that shape
- Start with any thing from cardboard ,construction paper to just plain newspaper and cut your shape you want and for a nice shape and cut to fit around the stool. Mark the top and bottom with a marker. Turn your carpet pc over and set you template cut out over this remembering to turn that over too. Cut carpet from the back side, cutting just through the carpet backing. Best to use a regular carpet knife but the next best is a utility knife or sometimes called a Stanley knife. These work better than a box cutter but a box cutter will work. Careful not to cut to deep and cut the flooring or surface below.. Old pc of plywood works well since then you can cut through harder. Trim fibers with scissors but don t use scissors to try and cut the backing. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
