Q:I spilled China Glaze's quot; For Audrey quot; on my CARPET . HELP . BIG TIME .
How much did you spill? If the above with nail polish remover does not work. You can change that piece of carpet by cutting out a small square around the stain and replace it with another piece of the same carpet from an area that can’t be seen eg under furniture. You have to glue both pieces in making shore the pile of carpet is going the same way and if there is a pattern you have to cut the replacing piece in same place in patter as the stain. Once its glued twist and brush pile around edge into the existing carpet pile so the joints are not visible.
Q:What is the name of the mat laid under the office carpet?
There is generally a layer of sponge pad or rubber pad or pearl cotton pad beneath carpet. Diamond carpet does not need a mat uunder it, directly sticked on the ground by glue.
Q:I live in San Jose CA. I would pick the cheapest carpet and pading.
Well that all depends on your square footage and how BIG each room is (sometimes with small rooms you can get two rooms out of one piece also if there are hallways and stairs you can save money that way by using the scraps (long edge pieces) for those areas... If you are lucky, you may be able to get decent carpet and pad for 10-15 per sq yard... of course that doesn't include installation. The best place to go is to a wholesaler (most all are open to the public) they usually have installers or at least can refer you to installers who will do the job for a reasonable price and sometimes even the wholesale places will arrange it as part of the price (costs a little more but worth it). We carpeted most of our house right before we moved in... was about 800-1000 square feet and it cost us 1300 *roughly* including everything...
Q:how or what can i use to get the sticky residue off carpet ? previous owners put vinyl tile over carpet which was stupid does anyone know what i can use to get the sticky residue off carpet?? i have goo gone not sure if it would work does anyone know what would work.. that wouldnt take alot to get it off carpet.. seems to be those self adhesive tiles that are on top of carpet.. i'm lifting tiles off but the residue is on carpet making you stick kinda to carpet.. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!! thank you in advance..
Just tear up the carpet. Maybe you will get lucky and have hardwood floors under it. You can sand and re-finish the floors if they're in bad shape. If no hardwood is under the carpet then yes, you will have to get new carpet.
Q:I acquired enough used carpeting (good quality) to redo my whole house, but have no padding. The padding I currently have is 30 years old,as is my current carpet. Also wondering, what is carpet crease?
I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT ABOVE A MEAT MARKET. MY BEDROOM AND LIVING ROOM ARE DIRECTLY OVER THE BIG WALK IN FREEZERS. IN THE SUMMER THERE IS USUALLY SOME CONDENSATION ON THE FLOOR UNDER THE CARPET. WHEN I HAD NEW CARPET INSTALLED 2 YEARS AGO, THE OLD PADDING WAS MILDEWED AND HAD A BAD ODOR AND THE CARPET WOULD GET DAMP SPOTS. THE INSTALLER RECOMMENDED NO PADDING AND A VERY CLOSELY KNIT CARPET LIKE IS USED IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS. SO FAR THERE HAVE BEEN NO PROBLEMS AND WE HAVE HAD AN UNUSUALLY HOT SUMMER.
Q:I am creating a pirate themed room for my son and i need a rug because i made him a pirate ship bed.
I give up me swashbuckling days long ago, lad. Now I runs a bakeshop in Portobello what brings in a pretty penny and many a gold doubloon besides. Me goods is well-liked an' me prices notoriously high. What? You never heard o' the pie-rates of the Caribbean?
Q:Hi everyone. I have a problem with my carpets. I recently bought a very nice, thin carpet. It is very detailed, thus it doesn't stay quot;flatquot;. It likes to move around and bulge. I have placed this carpet on another thick carpet. Now I need ideas to keep or stick my thin carpet on top of the thick one without damaging both of them. I dont want to glue or nail stuff done. Something quick and simple. Thanks everyone.
there is double-stick tape made just for that; Home Depot, Lowes, builders Square, etc.
Q:How are carpets made of composite rubber mats?
There are many kinds of composite rubber, I do not know what the landlord said is, usually with a composite machine automatically paste directly into the molding!
Q:For the record, I didn't want this rug...I told my husband anything that says quot;do not add waterquot; was a bad idea with young kids in the house....but here we are....So I know you're not supposed to use water on sisal (natural fiber/grass) rugs, but merely quot;blottingquot; as per the directions does not leave me with a clean, sanatized feeling. I generally use water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my carpets (I avoid chemical cleaners whenever I can), but how can I at least freshen up the area until enough time has passed that I'm not screaming quot;don't sit/crawl there!quot; Is baking soda an option?
My only suggestion - make your husband responsible for this problem immediately, and walk away. You did not want the rug for just this reason, and any move for you to take responsibility means you buy into the idea that this was an appropriate purchase. Stick to your guns, call him or text him and let him know his fabulous rug has experienced just the thing you knew would happen, and just drop it in his lap. The minute he brought it into the house, he took responsibility for whatever happened next- so don't do it for him. At all. This isn't just about the rug, of course- it's about power and who makes the decisions. If he wants to make them, it's up to him to do whatever it takes to follow through. Not your job, and it wasn't a joint decision made with your input. Call him, let him know he has a problem, and walk away. Not one paper towel- I'm not kidding. Or you will own the #$% rug and the blame for the spot your cleaning efforts make.
