Types of the cables:：

- This happend to me, and it I was wondering what happend. Turn over your laptop and make sure your battery is put it in correctly. My battery was slightly comming out. My friend noticed and put it back in correctly and now it works fine. Also update your battery driver. Worst case scenario, your battery is fried and you need a new one.

- 1) When you unplug the power cable, it spins down, because there is no power. In order to read data from the hard disk it needs to be spinning. When it is not spinning, you cannot read data from it. Some power saving systems will allow you set the hard drives to spin down after a long time that it has not been used, to conserve power. After that, to read from the disk it needs to be spun up, and that takes a few seconds. 2)No. 3) You cannot manually spin a hard disk, it spins at 7200 (some models 5400) rpm. That's VERY fast.

- Q: I have a hp laptop from south asia. The adapter connects with the laptop and the power cable. The power cable has a 3 round pin plug which says 6A 240V~. On the hp adapter for the input it says: 100-240V~ 1.6A 5-60Hz. It also says Connect Only to Grounded outlets.Now I am in canada. All i know is that here they have 120 V in normal power plugs. Also they have 1 round and 2 rectangular pins to plug in the outlet.I bought this adapter which basically connects the 3 round pin plug into the adapter and the adapter has 3 canadian pins. The thing is that it says 250V 10A on the adapter. So I am not sure if it will hurt my laptop if I use it. I am a bit confused because Canada has 120V and the adapter accepts 250V. The HP adapter has a range from 100-240V. Will this be ok to use since the HP adapter will just convert the 120V into the proper output for the laptop or do I need one the expensice Voltage converters for the laptop?
- ok here is what i would do .. (get a cheap 5 dollar volt meter at radio shack or such. ) it dont have to be digital or fancy , just need voltage reads.. unplug the lap top from the cord, plug in the adapter with the cord NOT IN THE COMPUTER. take the volt meter , and set it to read dc voltage 250v or above . read the volts comming out of the end of the cord using the meter.. is it less then 250 volts , then you should be good .. if you dont know how to read a volt meter, or know a handy neighbor with one , who knows how to us it , go ask them to read the cord for you , tell them you need to know the voltage output while connected to canadian power from the cord..

- Your CD-ROM should have at least two cables connect to it, a power cable and IDE cable that should also be connected to your motherboard or other interface card. Disconnect the IDE cable from the back of the CD-ROM and reconnect it, do the same on the opposite end of the cable. Next, if your CD-ROM drive is not getting any power disconnect the cable from the back of the drive and reconnect it. Check jumpers If you've recently installed any new disk drives such as a new hard disk drive verify that the jumpers are properly set on the back of the CD-ROM. Having the jumpers set improperly to master or slave can cause the CD-ROM to not work. Notice the 1 missing pin in the middle of your Cd-Rom IDE connection?. On your IDE cable there is a blocked hole in the exact same place. If you turned this cable around the wrong way you might have bent one of the pins or broken it off completely

- Okay, right off the bat I see a problem with that power supply. Aside from not having a pci-e connection it states it doesn't work with SLI or Crossfire (i.e. Nvidia or ATI). Since you're wanting to get a GeForce card, which works with a mobo with an Nvidia chipset, you'd need a more up-to-date power supply. Second - that card uses 18 amps on the 12-volt rail, and according to the specs on that power supply it runs up to 16 or 17 amps, so the power supply you're looking at isn't powerful enough to support the card. My advice - first make sure your mobo has an Nvidia Chipset. Second, spend a bit more and get a better power supply, and check the voltage - you need at least 18 amps on the 12-volt for that card.

- This is absolutely possible. I would be careful about the weight of cable you use, ensure that it can carry the amp rating of the accessory you want to power from the 12v accessory socket. For example if you're powering a heated vest these can be rated at up to 25 amps. Maplin have a good range of cables at various A ratings. I would also advise you crimp and heatshrink rings onto the cables that you can clamp onto the battery terminals. The Anchor ones are excellent, but Maplin will stock a range of options. You may want to think about wiring an inline fuse, and/or a switch to prevent overheating, and to protect your battery. Hope this helps.
