Q: i stained my carpet with grape juice yesterday and i want to get it out: I would start with heavily applying Nature's Miracle to the area, work the carpet fibers with a rag, and leave it to sit. You want to saturate the carpet fiber, but you do not want to soak the area so much that it gets down to the pad. Wet pad can cause odors, mold, and mildew. The Hoover carpet cleaner is no harder to use than a vacuum cleaner. Fill the solution reservoir with cleaning solution and work the area to be cleaned. Usually, you squeeze the solution application trigger on the push stroke, which applies the solution and works it into the carpet fiber. Release the trigger and draw the machine back and it will suck up the spent solution. Make several dry passes with the machine to suck up as much moisture as possible. Follow that up by rinsing with clean, clear, hot water once or twice, again do not over wet the carpet and make several dry passes until you can't suck up any more water. Let the carpet completely dry and repeat the rinse cycle if the previous rinses were overly dirty or still produced carpet cleaner foam in the rinse water. I've found Rug Doctor cleaning products to be the best available. You can enhance any cleaning solution's ability with the use of Oxy Clean crystals. Oxy Clean can also be used as a pre-treatment spray to loosen dirt and grime from carpet fibers before the cleaning process begins.

Q: I recently had new carpet installed in my home, and I was confused that the name of the color I picked out at the showroom was called quot;Fawn's Leapquot;, but 3 weeks later when the installers arrived, the tag on the carpet roll was named quot;Creston Winter Minkquot;. But is this common with the carpet industry?: theres 2 scenarios that fall into play here.1st- the carpet mills produce the carpet in large lots, some mills give their product a name others a number.carpet distribitutors and stores are able to give carpets whatever name they like, hence the reason you go to home depot w/ a lowes name and you cant find the name but the exact carpet. for example: my carpet distributor has a product line made by shaw mills, called apt +2, but its the only place to find that name. a store that i worked for dealt w/ masiland mills , almost everything that came from that mill had a store given name like the owners sons nickname for example. it makes it seem like that carpet is exclusively made for that store, also, not all dyes are mixed the same way giving a variance in dye lot (the difference between your swatch and the sample. 2- worst case, you picked out a carpet and the store you bought it from found a comparable piece for less money and ordered that thinkin you wouldn't notice the difference and they put even more money in their pocket. go back to that store and see if they have a rug by the name you got and not ordered, if so check the price if different i would seek legal retribution

Q: We have our carpet cleaned once a year and after 6 months all the stains are back. A carpet cleaner told me if it was cleaned properly the stains wouldn't return. My carpet is a type of berber, but not the good berber. I have always used steam cleaning. My question is would a chem clean be better. Another carpet place told me probably the stains were down in the pad. Is there a cleaning that would go deep into the pad otherwise I am faced with getting 1200 yards of new carpet. You imput would be greatly appreciated.: my husband lays flooring and just said that once it hits the pad, there's no return. sorry but you are faced with new carpet. good news is, if you live around ga....he may be able to help you out. lol. j/k......try the car cleaning stuff called purple power. i used to detail cars and we used that on the carpet and always has clean brand new looking results. it will no fade or dicolor your carpet either. just go to auto zone and gets some. it' worth a try.

Q: SO my dog had bad diaheria and made a nasty nasty mess on the carpet in a few spots and it was just aweful so only thing i had was oxi clean so put oxiclean on the spots which were very large spots and now its super white in those spots which is better then poo but looks crazy... what can I do to make it look not as noticable? If using a carpet cleaner is out of the question, then i'd suggest using white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide, the stuff in the brown bottle from the drug store. Definately stay away from using chemicals not meant for carpets, i learned that lesson when i was 12 and had a kool aid spill on the living room carpet. My mother still is'nt quite sure how it got a hole in it..lol...anyway. Make sure that what'ever you decide to use, you test a very small spot in some corner or somewhere out of site, just to be sure that it won't make it worse, or act in a negative way with your carpet.
