Q: About 10-12 years ago we had our bathroom sink resurfaced (I don't know what with, and it's now rather pliable/rubbery), and it's beginning to peel around the faucet area, and in some very small spots in the main part of the sink bowl. Is there a best way to remove the new surface, which is quite ugly peeling, to get back to the old surface? Thanks.
It could also be an epoxy spray that they put on there but you should find out before doing anything. It's probably better to just call it quits and get a new one. Stripping it will make a mess, release potentially hazardous gases, and just be a lot of work to bring it back to the original ugliness you covered up in the first place. Best way, sand then seal.
Q: It's not clogged, I've used drain-o, and it's been this way for several years...it's driving me nuts. I'm a stay at home mom and want to WOW my hubby with my fix-it skills;o) But, I have no idea how to fix it...any ideas?
I can just bet that you have galvanized drain pipe, and that you have a hard water problem in your home (in that you have to use a water softener.) You will probably find that your drain (waste water) pipe is calcified. You solve this by replacing the offending pipe. You'll need a hacksaw with a sharp blade, a pair of transition unions, and enough pvc pipe to cover what was removed. You determine the size of the pipe, and transition unions you need by the outside diameter of the pipe you have. Probably 1.5 I would guess. You'll need pvc cleaner, primer, and glue. No mixing and matching sch. 40 with pvc! Before you do this, check out This Old House and try and catch one of their episodes on plumbing. It sounds like a more complicated project than it is, so if you do your homework first, you could pull this off...
Q: My bathroom sink keeps leaking can someone telll me how to put a facet and plumbing in and what do i put where?
You need to first say what is leaking: the faucet itself or the sinkbowl around the drain. It might be good to get yourself a beginner plumbers book at Lowe's or Home Depot. If you have too much trouble just go to Lowe's and explain the problem you are having to one of them. Normally they have at least one person there that is fairly knowledgable regarding the subject you ask about.
Q: My bathroom sink seems to smell regardless of what you dump down it. The bath drain is fine along with all the rest of the drains in the house besides the bathroom sink drain... What should be done to make the smell go away for good?(while being cost effective as I am renting an apartment?)... Should I just have a plumber try something or ? Thanks for your detailed answer... Tom
take the trap off and remove all the black gunk that I'm sure is in there
Q: Kohler's washbasin is better than TOTO's washbasin
LZ is the style of the problem, choose the other is different!
Q: Bathroom washbasin porcelain surface dirt how to clear out?
Acid cleansers can remove the calcareous surface of the cleaning agent, cement stains, scale and the toilet often stubborn urine stains, metal oxide stains, such as acidification cleaning agent.
Q: Bathroom basin cabinet what is good quality
Wood + ceramics
Q: Bathroom desk basin cabinet has 90 centimeters long?
Certainly have, a lot of shops can be customized, you can go to the local building materials market to ask
Q: How about the basin down the water
84 disinfectant is a sodium hypochlorite-based highly effective disinfectant, the main component of sodium hypochlorite (NaClO). Colorless or light yellow liquid, available chlorine content of 5.5 to 6.5%. Is widely used in hotels, tourism, hospitals, food processing industry.
Q: the pop up drain plug in my bathroom sink has become unattached from the pull lever, does this mean its broken? How do I repair it?
there's this real flimsy linkage underneath the sink that ties the drain plug to the drain plug opener/closer. it's a little skinny rod that ties into a metal strip with a bunch of holes in it. sometimes the metal rod may have a screw on the end of it. sometimes it's just real long and will simply....welll youre just going to have to get under the sink and look at it. i know all that sounds nutts but get under the sink and look at it. it's super easy to fix once you figure it out.
