Q: I am using Hp compaq 6730b laptop. When My laptop is on and I connect LAN cable, it doesn't detect it. Why? I have to restart laptop in order to get LAN cable detected. Is not there any other way to do it keeping the laptop on?
Try updating the driver, first, using Control Panel, Driver Manager, click on the Ethernet/LAN and tell it to update the driver. If you're using Windows 7, it might be possible to get a troubleshooter downloaded for network connections from the Microsoft website to install run to see if that helps. Otherwise - I'd try a different Ethernet cable to see if it works better. The wires can break, if the cable gets bent or twisted.
Q: A tech came out and said I had to tell my landlord. I do live in an apartment, but I have the wire maintenance plan. I do have an HD box, but the HD doesn't look as clear as it should. The cable is frayed slightly and I did a self install kit. I know what I'm doing, so should the RG-59 be replaced with RG-6? And will charter do it?
This may be beyond your control: When the tech told you that the landlord needed to be told, it appears that the cabling problem exists between Charter's entry point in the building to the entry point in your unit. Which is your landlord's territory, requiring your landlord to make the work request to Charter. Sounds like you've done all you could. RG-59 from the wall outlet to your cable modem is sufficient. You could swap it out w/ RG-6 but, because the run should be relatively short, I don't think you'll see enough of an improvement to support broadband. Wire Maintenance will only support what you have control over, which is from the wall outlet to any wiring in your unit. Now, your landlord may make the request to get Charter to do the fix, but you may end up having to pay for it unless Charter allows the work under Wire Maintenance. Good luck.
Q: Does anyone knows how to remove the cruise control of a 92 honda accord lx and how can i relocate the battery on the trunk??
it might desire to be a fuse or loose cable interior the wiring of the cruise controllerthe appropriate element to do is pass to the broking to examine it out, besides the reality that it might desire to be extremely pricier in spite of the undeniable fact that it rather is properly worth on the tip. much less project and funds spend on the tip
Q: Hi I am going to buy a Toshiba HD-DVD player I was checking in the web but, it does not say that it comes with HD connection cables inside. I also do have Monster HDMI-DVI cable. Please let me know thank you!
the one I just bought recently only had 1 cable,it was a pain in the butt trying to hook this thing up,but anyway mine only had 1 cable and I had to have 2,so off to the hardware store I went
Q: I just purchased a house and the previous owners had a Pioneer Elite Plasma TV mounted in the main room. When the Pioneer Elite cable was installed, it was stapled to the studs so it can't be pulled out. Not only does the cable go up in the wall from the floor to the middle of the wall, but it also goes to the left for about 5 feet. Is there a way to use the cable and convert it to HDMI plugs? I don't want to tear into the wall but if I can't convert the PE cable to HDMI I have no other choice. Any suggestions?
My understanding of that cable is that it is dual head cable one connector being a standard DVI connector which would be pretty easy to find a DVI to HDMI adaptor but would not carry sound only video the other connector is a MDR20 connector which is a proprietary connector used by Pioneer and Sharp and was used as a power source and control cable for the plasma TV module .you could use the DVI side to run Video as DVI is pretty much HDMI without sound you would then probably have to run a second cable either HDMI; digital or optical for sound but this could be done through an AV receiver and would not have to go through the TV ; as you could connect the AV/ Receiver directly to the cable box and also to a Blu ray or DVD player for sound and then run an HDMI cable to the TV through the in-wall pioneer cable DVI side for the video.using the AV receiver as your control box switcher for the various devices.
Q: I need suggestions! I have a $150 cheap budget that's why there are quotes around 'great'.I listen to variations of music, but it's mainly for pop and indie. Another thing I would like to have on them are either a removable cable or a control talk cable, if possible.Thanks.
I too use headphones a lot, love the Bose headphones. They are great. They are comfortable, like how they sound they cost $100 - $129. Maybe you can give them a try.
Q: I am just need help with my Charter Communications cable remote. Please help me!

Q: Hello. I have Time Warner Cable. I accidentally activated closed captioning with my remote control, and I don't know what I did to activate it. I tried contacted TWC customer service about it and I did what they told me to do, and it didn't help. How do I get closed captioning off my TV? Please let me know. Thank you. :D
LOOK at your TV REMOTE. Do you see a button labled CC or CAPT? Press it ntinue to press it over and over until the word OFF appears. Now wait. Do you still see the CAPTIONS appearing? If so, you now have to use the TW cable REMOTE. Set it for CABLE, not TV at the top of the remote. NOW, LOOK for the CC or CAPT button on that. Isn't there? Ok, go INTO the TW menu/setup.Look for a Video or Audio based ICON.select it, find the CC or Caption selection and turn it OFF. I doubt the problem is with your boxyou turned on the TV's captioning.
