- Q:right so lads, I'm from ireland, he's from england. he says sofa i say couch. WHICH IS IT?

- Q:I have these horrid terracotta coloured sofa covers. They are horrid because our carpet is wine red - so they don't go! They are unused - so are the 'spare' set...but our current set has seen the last of its days. I am hoping to save money and not have to buy a new sofa - but just make sure that these sofa covers are a better colour than they currently are!Dylon pre-dye - which is for removing colour seems to work okay. But it hasn't removed enough for me to feel that it is okay to then dye them - I am going for beige. As the carpet is already dark, I do not feel that dark sofa covers will work. So - I was wondering if I could further use bleach for these covers (they are cotton) and how much I would need to use in the washing machine for them to do the job. They don't need to be white - just a bit lighter than they are! They are sorta a darker buttercream once the pre-dye has been used. Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated! - TIA
- Don't use bleach. Have you considered a product like Rit Laundry Treatment Color Remover?

- I know several people who have them, and they are very happy with them. They are made from leather, so they will have all of the same great qualities, just more seams to be aware of. - Well, Homer, if this is going to be your man room I think you should decide. I guess a lot depends on the amount of room you have, too. We have a lazy boy reclining sofa and love seat that hold 5 adults, which is nice if you are having the guys or family over and a pretty big coffee table. I don't know if you want a big, old chair for yourself or not. Are you going to get leather or cloth. I want to switch to leather just as soon as I get motivated, but it won't provide as much seating, I don't think. Enjoy whatever you choose.

- Costic sofa? Do you mean caustic soda? It's also known as lye and sodium hydroxide. It's an ingredient in many soaps, so if it's diluted properly it can clean your face. But if not diluted properly, it can quite literally eat your skin away, never mind the upper layer. Unless you find a recipe for what you want to do, I wouldn't touch it. I don't know that chemical peeling of your skin is something that's a DIY thing.

- I just found this cleaning product its called Kids n Pets it works great I apply the liquid than I scrub. I have 2 kids and a hubbie whom like to eat on the couch I've tried it on both my dinning chairs and couch it works great. Good LUck =)

- Use babygates to keep your dog out of the room the sofa is in. Though, depending on the size and tenacity of your dog this might not work. I agree with the person that suggested just putting an old blanket over the couch when you're gone. Solves your problem nd your dog still has his couch to sleep on. :)
