- Q: So I just bought a used ford explorer. It has goodyear tracker 2 tires on there. I don‘t think they are that great. They seem to have a problem on the freeway, causing the steering wheel to shake at 65+mph, and I beleive it is the tires because the tires seem to have a vibration issue around 60-65. Anyone tell me how good these are? They‘re from walmart.
- sounds like a balance issue more than a tire issue. get your tires rebalanced before condemning the tires. Rumor is in the business that clubs like Walmart, Sams, BJ's and what not, all get second runs of tires which are (by definition) not first run quality manufactured tires. but like i said. Try a rotate and balance before replacing the tires. Good luck. I've never been a fan of Goodyear tires anyways. If you're on a budget try a Kumho tire. Do some research on tire rack.
- Q: How much air pressure should my back tires have on my Infiniti G35?
- The tire placard may be under the center armrest or drivers door jamb! section 8 Page 40 owners manual says 33 psi cold air pressure. Low tire warning light turns on at 29 psi. Coupes and sedans are the same. Find a good gauge and check tires every time the temp outside changes more than 20 degrees or make tire checking a weekly thing.
- Q: I need to buy me 2 tires for my mini van. I normally order it from Tire Rack and buy Bridge Stone tire. I have heard Toyota is doing free give away with purchase of tire, or tire kingdom is also doing some kind of free give away. I know I like Bridge Stone tire, and Tire Rack gives a great price.
- Tire Rack does give great deals, so as long as you have a shop that will install the tires, then that'll be your best option. But make sure that the shop will not charge so much to install the tires that it makes the total cost more than what the tires cost locally. Remember to include shipping charges and installation cost in your comparison.
- Q: In my line of work I find old dry rotted tires and in the last couple months I have accumulated a LOT of tires. I have asked around, tire shops won‘t take them, the landfill won‘t. i‘m not sure where to turn next.
- For a new driver, an auto transmission. It's one less thing to be concerned about while driving. A standard shift is good if you are going to be driving on poor roads, or need low gear torque, for towing. --- girl who knows her cars.
- Q: Do wheels/tires need to be on my car to have them balanced? Or can I just take the wheels separate from the tires to the shop and have them mount and balance them?
- Tires/wheels are dismounted from a vehicle when they are balanced. If for some reason it is more convenient for your to bring in the tires/wheels separate from the vehicle go right ahead.
- Q: Will these tires work for my Mitsubishi?
- IT WELL COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS AND PICTURES TO SHOW HOW TO INSTALL IT
- Q: Having problems with brand new car tires. Any time the temperature falls I have to put air in my tires. what can be causing this problem. My wife who also has new tires it‘s having the same problem is not all the tires, just certain ones. are they defective?
- No, I doubt that the tires are defective. The ideal gas law says that as temperature decreases either volume or pressure decreases. The volume in a tire is fixed (approximately) thus the pressure decreases with changes in temperature. I commend you check your tire pressure regularly and adjust them as temperature changes. Tires work and wear best if they are adjusted to the recommended tire pressure by the manufacturer. I just completed that task on my vehicles this morning since it has turned colder in the last couple of days. Had to add air to all of them to compensate for the change. In the spring, will have to let some air out as temperatures warm back up. Not sure why not all the tires were affected. Could be that the tire pressure was not equal in all of them to begin with. I couldn't afford it but did spend extra for a highly accurate tire pressure gauge and haven't seen that problem since. I believe that tire pressures are to be measured at cold (meaning ambient) temperatures rather than warming them up.
- Q: Lets say i have 700 diameter wheel that cane with 23mm width tire. Is it possible to change out tire that is 25mm or 28mm?
- Let's say - usually yes. Whether it would be possible (or even a good idea) in your particular case would depend mainly on the width of the rim and the available space in the respective fork.
- Q: i am looking for low profile tires ofr my ford ranger. but i dont know alot about tires. i dont want ruberband tires but i want them low. what size should i get.
- It all depends on what size rim you have or want. On my 96 i have 18s with a 215/35/ZR18 tire on it. 215 is the rim width, 35 is the sidewall height. and 18 obviously for the rim diameter. ZR is the speed rating on the tire ZR is the highest you can get. That tire I have is a rubberband it rides like a brick to be honest. A the lower the number for sidewall height the lower the profile of tire. Also do you have the truck lowered or anything ? You have to take that into account as well when deciding on what size tire to get.
- Q: I just want to know how safe are used tires? And also how to know if you are purchasing good used tires.
- For the best answers, search on this site Chances are that the used tires have enough wear on them that you won't really be saving much money. You will have to replace them far more often than the new tires. I also seriously doubt that the used tires come with any factory warranty. Over all you would be better off just getting the new tires.
