Q: I had snow tires put on my car in November. I now want to switch them out for my summers. When the shop took my summer wheels/tires off they did not label which tire was where. The tires only had 4k miles on them when removed. Will it matter where I mount the summers? Q: ebay tires are cheap, is there a chance that they might be counterfeits made with inferior materials?its just that tires are very important and can‘t have them fall apart: All you need to do is get the seller to provide you with the DOT number from the side of the tire. the last 4 digits will be something like 0906 which would indicate that the tire was manufactured in september of 2006. as long as those dot numbers do not indicate that the tire was manufactured more than 6 years ago you are fine. the tires are still good. Also, there arent many people that would melt down rubber, to make tires to try and sell them on the internet, I hate to tell you but the price of rubber, gas and other materials to make a tire is far too expensive for someone to be selling tires way cheaper than sears, goodyear, or other tire retailers. people sell on OKorder because of a few reasons 1) they dont need the tires 2) they have more than one set to sell (they buy them in lots and get a better deal on them) I would highly doubt they are selling rip off tires. so stick to what I told ya, check for the DOT number, because all MAJOR manufacturers use the dot number. so if the tires dont have a dot number obviously you'd know they are not real tires.

The placard on my car says to inflate to 29 psi cold for front and rear, but with these new wheels should i raise the psi or keep them at 29?: The cold tire inflation pressure on the new 17 inch tire sidewalls probably says 36 psi maximum. For best gas mileage I recommend inflating all four tires to 36 psi. You won't notice any road performance difference and your tires will last longer.

Your next set could possibly have a similar date, but again, less likely. It is good you are looking at tire dates to ensure you are not running on old tires. There is no aging treatment for tires, once they're out of the autoclave and cooled to room temperature (and inspected) they're good to go.
