- Q:i dont want the sofa function, just the bed
- Sofa beds come in different sizes. If it is a double size sofa, then a double mattress will fit. You will have to measure it to be sure.
- Q:what are important factors when purchasing a sleeper sofa?
- The only really important factor is whether or not you can feel the metal bars when you lay down on the bed.

- Here are your options: 1. Declaw the cat. There is a new LASER procedure which is LESS painful, LESS bloody, and they recover sooner. 2. Soft Claws. They are small pieces of plastic that you glue onto the nails. Of course, when the nail sheds off, you must replace them. 3. Double-sided tape. Put double-sided tape on the area he/she is clawing. They do not like the sticky feeling. 4. Be sure to place a scratching post (impegnated with catnip as an attractant) right in front of the sofa where he/she scratches. It is a physical barrier, and hopefully, the cat will learn to scratch the post (in the proper place) and not the sofa. You can slowly move the post away from the sofa over several days. 5. Spike pads ... sounds worse than it is!!! They are plastic pads with small plastic spikes (NOT SHARP, but the cat does not like walking on it nor laying down or sitting or standing on the spikes) and this is a physical barrier to the cat being ON the sofa. Of course, if he/she does not scratch while ON the sofa, place the mat on the floor near where he/she stands to do his/her scratching. See links below for the specific items I am referring to. - Is the hallway a straight shot? If it curves at the door you will have more difficulty. Also, do you have a straight shot after you get through the door? If the sofa is material and stuffed you have a little more give. You stand the chance of damaging the sofa a little also on the door facing especially if it is leather. You should be able to fit it in. It is a lot easier if you have more than one person moving the sofa.

- Your best bet would be to check your local stores. Look for 'specials' and 'going-out-of-business' sales for the best deals. There are stores online that sell sofa beds, but when you calculate the shipping costs, the price becomes exorbitant. Good luck. If you live near a JC Penney's, their prices and quality are good. They also have great customer service.

- Q:Matisse does not have a UTI as he does this once every two weeks or so. He used to do this alot but we changed his litter and it got better. He has two litter boxes that are fully cleaned every monday and thursday. He is neutered and an only kitty. No major changes in his world recently.He just peed all over our sofa again. We put him outside on the patio for the evening but I am looking for ways to stop him. Hubby wants to get a water bottle and spritz the little guy to teach him to not step onto the sofas at all. I am not against that but am wondering if any of the Feli-away sprays work? Or if there is some other reason cats do this?
- I have had this problem with my cat often, but he stopped about 1.5 years ago. He definately is telling you something. Maybe he wants more attention. Maybe he wants you to scoop the litter daily instead of twice a week. How long ago did you change his litter? Make sure he isn't being punished for peeing as cats do not learn from that, they only feel insecure around you if you do. I've found that spraying (not yelling and spraying) but just spraying with a water bottle may help, but ONLY if you catch him in the act, not before or after, otherwise he may just pee somewhere else. Hopefully, not on you while you are sleeping like my cat did! Is he home alone alot? He could be lonely. Are there ANY changes, even very small, that you haven't thought about? One last thing, sometimes they will go where they want you to give them attention. So take him to the couch and mangle him for awhile. Make him feel welcome there and see what that does.
