Q: I found this chair sitting in our garage for about a year now and I want to put it in my bedroom. The problem is that its kinda dirty.. Its like a cream color but it has dark marks on the arms its from my uncles tools. It's not a leather or recliner chair its just a regular sitting chair. I just want to get the dark black marks out of it so I can make it look nice in my bedroom. plus it smells a little.. The tips would greatly be appreciated.. THANK YOU!!
Use Fabreeze and put a pretty throw over it.
Q: He just BLANTENTLY peed on my new comfy chair. We keep the box very clean, scooping several times a day (so thats not the prob)We recently rescued another cat (so I think thats the problem) I've use bitter orange, but I'd like a back up plan, something to keep him OFF MY CHAIR
I'm jealous and I didn't want a baby brother. Do you still love me? That's what old cat is saying. The state of the box is not the big problem. You might try getting another one, for new cat to use just to keep a potential fight from happening. This is more of a psychological problem. I think this will stop when he learns he is still top cat. So don't scold him. Of course you still love him. He is still the best cat in the whole world you will tell him every chance you get. In the mean time, put some tin foil on the chair. Cats hate it.
Q: What are some of the pros and cons of each? Massage chairs are generally expensive, are they worth it? how close do they mimic a live massage?

Q: The lady who owns the venue we chose is something else, let me tell you...I wish now I'd have gone somewhere else, but we just couldn't afford more! So she won't have the chairs arranged in rows for the ceremony (we're having it indoors because it's FALL) and so we're forced to have guests sit at their tables. How can I make this look better??
I recently conducted a wedding where the set-up was similar - and because the tables were very long it was impossible to move them away. So we turned the first row of chairs round so the people sat with their backs to the first table and added to the row the chairs on the other side of the table, and then moved the chairs at the other tables so the people at each table were essentially sitting on the one side of that table with their backs to the table and facing the ceremony area (for a ceremony people can sit much closer together than they would for dining) and then after the ceremony people just took their chairs back to their own place. Worked well.
Q: Okay, this is a serious question. When I smell my seat, it straight up smells like farts. I am a clean person and occassionally let one rip (like anyone else), but it seems like my computer chair absorbs the smell. Is this normal? Do all chairs smell like this eventually? How do I get this embarrassing smell out?I find it embarrassing because now that I notice it, I'm not sure if other people who come over and use the computer will notice it to, or if it's just in my mind. And if a fart is just a gas, how come it doesn't just hit the chair and then evaporate away into the air? It makes me think there is more to farts than just gas. Maybe they also contain the elements solids and/or liquids. Please help. This is embarrassing. Now it has me thinking that my car seat probably stinks, too. Is this normal? Please, everyone out there - in the privacy of your home, bend down and smell your own chair. Does it smell like farts, too? Tell me I'm not alone.
Not alone! I didnt smell the chair, but I know it smells cuz I have noticed before. It is super weird because I am sitting in a used chair for my new job so it is especially gross knowing i am probably smelling someone else! Febreeze hasnt worked nor perfume. The smell always returns. Going to try a few other suggestions and if they dont work I'm putting in for a new chair!
Q: I'm looking for a sturdy but comfortable chair that I could use for reading or relaxing, preferably under $250. Link, name, or pictures are appreciated!
At that price point you won't get durability, but if that's what you can afford, so be it. Things to look for: Heavily padded arms. The seat is comfortable immediately when you try it out. Arms have removable covers. Arm covers and seat cushion cover are washable. Matching footstool or small ottoman. The chair fits you so your back is against its back and your legs bend naturally at the knee. FWIW, if you're in the US you can do better on Craigslist than in an inexpensive furniture store.
Q: Need a good chair to read on.
I got a wingback from the dumpster and its a very good reading chair. Wing back, upholstered, just make sure its got arms. A recliner is a good reading chair. You might find one at goodwill. I really think upholsted is the way to go!
Q: I am designing a chair for a musician for a school project and have a few questions about the ergonomics of the chairs that musicians sit it while performing and practicing. a. How often (on average) do you practice/play per week? b. What is the proper posture for playing your instrument while sitting? c. Do you prefer to stand or sit when performing/practicing? Why? d. Do you have any physical ailments associated with sitting while playing your instrument? e. How does your seat position within an orchestral setting affect your playing? f. Do you have a favorite chair when practicing/playing? If so, what do you like about it? g. What do you like/not like about the chairs you are typically required to use? h. Would you consider buying a purposely-designed chair for playing if you knew it would help your performance and/or health? i. What characteristics would define an ideal musician’s seat for you and your instrument?
I play the flute, a. I play Monday through Friday for an hour with my school band, and about 30 minutes to an hour most evenings. b. Proper posture is to have both feet flat on the floor while sitting on the edge of the seat with a straight back. c. I prefer to stand when I'm playing by myself, because it makes breathing easier. d. If I have to hold my instrument up for a while, my arms ache, but it's nothing too major. e. The worst part about being a flute player is having to adjust for space and trying to hold the instrument around the chair. So we're constantly shifting, trying to get comfortable. f. The chair I like to use if I have to sit is a little taller and has a lower back. g. The chairs I have to use are generally hard plastic, which is uncomfortable, and they have high backs that are difficult to maneuver around. h. Yes I would. i. One with a lower back, so I could hold my instrument over it, and a little more suited to sitting for longer periods of time.
Q: A lot of students fall over backwards in chairs at school. Has this happened to anyone?
Either use chairs that are attached to the desk, or superglue the kid to it.
