Q: I am looking for a comfortable, durable, and preferably affordable office chair to use for long hours of use. Any suggestions? Best answer goes to the person that provides me information of what I looking for. Thanks in advance.
I okorder / and I would highly recommend a commercial grade chair since you are using it for long periods of time. Look for something ergonomic (not just the word ergonomic but true feature). Look for seat depth adjustment, independent backrest, lumbar support and what type of foam they use. Molded injection is more durable and lasts longer, cut foam is softer but doesn't hold up as well. As for price you are probably looking at $250+ but should get a lifetime warranty and plenty of use from the chair average 8 years.
Q: what is the fabriq ? and what is inside the chair is it just foam ?and how can i make in home ?can any one give me any sites for this stuff pz with pics...
Christopher okorder out of print patterns.
Q: It kills me that it seems like my son can only find comfort in his vibrating chair. He loves the bouncing motion, and that is often the only way I can get him to settle down. He is now 6 weeks old, we started putting him in this chair at about one week of age when dealing with his colic at night. It really worked to help settle him down. I am happy that his colic seems to be getting better by the day, but now I can't seem to get him out of the chair. I would love to have a baby that found comfort in my arms, and not a chair. I am always close by and sing and talk to him while he is in the chair, rub his belly, play with him and such. He also always has his bottles in my arms. But other than that, his tummy time, and a few hours that he sleeps in his crib, he is in the chair. Is this normal, does any one else have this situation?
I have a 5 week old little girl that is the same way! She loves her bouncey seat! The only problem I have with it is the price of batteries! My advise is to enjoy it while it last! As long as he is happy, you should be too!
Q: i just got 2 kittens yesterday and all they do is pretty much stay under my rocking chair. their 4 months old but i don't know how to get them out from under the rocking chair without hurting them. please help i want to spend time with them and have fun with them.
This isn't unusual. Let them come out on their own; don't drag them out from under the chair. Cats hate change and new kittens may find a new environment very frightening for a few days until they settle in. Have you tried playing with them with a dangly toy or offering them food from your fingers or tossing a crunchie to them? If you offer them a substitute for the safety of the chair that may help - maybe a kitty teepee or even a box with a towel in it where they can hide. They'll come out. They just need time.
Q: Hey, so I bought a wing chair from goodwill, I'm going to clean it, but the fabric is ugly, and I want to put new fabric on, how do I go about doing this?
Re-covering a wing chair is a job for an expert upholsterer so i wouldn't recommend it for a first project unless you're a great seamstress already. However, you can make a passable slipcover for it. Choose a soft but sturdy fabric in a solid cover or small or large print (no stripes, medium scale prints or plaids -- too hard to match patterns). You'll need about 6 yards, at least. One cheap way to get a lot of fabric is to buy bedsheets or fabric shower curtains. I made a nice chair slipcover years ago from two heavy cotton large tableclothes, 60 x 120 each that cost me less than $15 total. Wash and machine dry your fabric first to pre-shrink it. You can either make paper patterns by smoothing brown wrapping paper over the areas of the chair and cutting the pieces to fit OR just smooth the fabric over each area (the back, the seat cushion, the sides) and cutting the pieces with an inch on each side. Pin the pieces together over the chair with the good side of the fabric towards the chair and the seam edges out, then sew the seams together. Then turn the slipcover right side out and slip it over the chair. Sew woven tape ties or ribbons at the bottom edge near all 4 legs and tie them around the legs to keep the cover from riding up or slipping. If the seat cushion is removeable, make the cover to fit the chair with the cushion off, then make a separate slip cover for the seat cushion with a zipper or velcro to close one side. If you go to a fabric store, some of the pattern companies (like mcCalls, Butterick and Simplicity) have patterns that give instructions for making slipcovers like this -- your local library probably has upholstering guide books too. Good luck with your chair!
Q: If you do, do you have a pad in it? Where did you get it? I found a website, but they are $44.00 for a plain one!!
I okorder /... I ended up paying full price for it ($116) but my mom ended up finding the exact one for her house on craigslist for $50. I actually run across lots of really cool, vintage-looking wooden chairs on craigs...I would take a look.
Q: i am painting the inside of my condo, and i had an idea, but i am not sure if it works or not. from our couch, directly across on the other wall is the tv, to the right of it is the stairwell to the 2nd floor, so you can see it from the couch. i was thinking of painting the wall that the TV is on (which is a small wall) an accent color, and then, having a chair rail go up the stairwell, with that same accent color from the chair rail to the floor. I was wondering if i need to get a thin chair rail to do this , so it doesnt look too wierd 6 - 8'' above the railing. does this even sound like an idea that could work? HELP!
Actually, what you are creating is a wainscotting and yes the idea will look lovely. Step back from the stair case, can you see through the railing? How large is the banister and railings? This will optically tell you the size of chair rail thickness you will need. If the banister is bulky, use a larger chair rail to balance it and so that visually it rises just above the height of the bannister to add bulk and so that you don't use a size that disappears against it. By using the same color up the stairs that you use on the TV wall, you are anchoring that end of the room which will give it more presence. Great project, sounds fun!
Q: I am debating on whether or not to get one. I am leaning towards yes though. For petite or short people would you say the ottoman is a must in order to rock the chair? If you did NOT get a glider, what type of chair did you use to while nursing the baby?THANKS!!
I have a glider but I don't use it. My daughter never liked to be rocked and I find it kind of squished. When I have my next child I would rather have an overstuffed arm chair for reading books on or cuddling together. Some even rock. That being said some people love the glider...I just don't.
Q: My sister's b-day is coming up and she wants like a chair. a comfy one and with like white, blue, green, or purple in it... it cant be that small. and has to be pretty cheap!! Get links and pics please
