- Well, I think the price is OK, you may just want to save up for it, but I'll still try to help: This style of chair is called a papasan chair, I know that Pier One sells them but they're more expensive than the PBTeen model. Probably the only way to get a papasan chair cheaply is to get a used/second hand one. If you want to get one used, you could try Craigslist for your area. I don't know how old you are, so if you are young *ASK PERMISSION FROM YOUR PARENTS* to look at Craigslist online (there can be bad people online there), and if you ever buy anything online through Craigslist *MAKE SURE* someone goes with you if you go to pick it up. If you get a Pier One or used chair, you could make a slipcover for the cushion (in a fabric like the Dottie chair), but in all honesty I would save your time and trouble and buy the PBTeen one. - I can tell you that I can understand why someone would put a chair on the road in front of their property.After the most recent snowfall I awoke to my neighbours car parked on the front of my property ,even though he has ample room in front of his own house to park there.The reason this annoys me is that the snowplow adds about an extra 6-8 feet in front of my property so they can clear his car.In order to keep the access to my driveway easier I must clear this extra snow.This extended wall of snow is also added to the end of my driveway.It certainly does not make for good neighbours especially when they make a comment like Oh well. I think that those people who park on the road during the period when the snowplow is clearing the street should be ticketed and /towed.If the existing bylaws were enforced there would be no need for chairs.
- Q: Just wondering how to go about this. I have four table chairs that i would like to re stain. I tried just sanding it but the old varnish clogs the paper really fast. I tried paint stripper but when I go to remove it I always get tiny splashes that some how get onto my skin and burn like a mofo. I'm using gloves but some always gets on my face, not so good. Could I just soak the chairs in water that has a bit of paint stripper?
- Do not soak the chairs in water, it would swell the wood and loosen the glue in the joints. What I suggest is that you get the citrus type of stripper that isn't caustic to your skin. Use the stripper as directed on the container then sand away any remaining marks until your chairs are bare and ready for a new application of finish. I've used the citrus stripper successfully several times. Just allow everything to dry well before you sand again. You'll have to be patient but you'll be pleased with the results. - lol my cat does that ALL the time! i can never get out of my chair cause i know my cats gonna steal my spot! what i do is put a object that is kinda impossible to sit on, like i put my backpack on top or a pile of books. every time you see her on your chair, get a spray bottle and spray her. she'll soon learn who's chair it is :P i suggest you getting a really nice cat chair or really any nice warm soft chair for your cat so that it'll she'll forget about your chair. put catnip on it if it helps.
