Q:Our toddler is a very quick little guy and him accessing our desk is a large problem. The problem is our son being able to climb the desk chairs and possibly fall off of them. We have huge and heavy metal chairs but that doesn't stop him from pushing them out and climbing to pull the keys off my husbands laptop. Is there a special device that could keep a chair latched onto a desk when not in use?Moving computers and closing doors aren't options since we live in a studio apartment.
I'm sorry, what does living in an apartment have to do with being unable to put a laptop on a shelf or in a cupboard? Why don't you keep the desk chairs away from the desk, and just take them up to the desk when you are using them. They have wheel locks, don't they? There's a big difference between pushing them a few inches and a few yards.
Q:Is there such a thing as a gaming chair for racing games that moves, not just rumbles?
If you don't mean rumble, then in what way move? Tilting according to the camber of the road? Edit: I doubt there's anything like that for home users. It would be extremely expensive and anybody who could afford it could just buy an arcade machine. Remember that the game itself would have to be designed for the chair, so it's not just a case of plugging the chair into your PS3 and suddenly feeling intertia in Gran Turismo.
Q:My girlfriend bought an antique chair that is in good shape physically (needs no repairs) but the finish on it in places is worn off all the way down to the wood. She wants it painted white. So what would I need to do to strip off the remaining finish and paint it so that it will look good for a long time? Thanks in advance!
Now he is a pro painter lol...In all actuality..if you refinsihs a antique chair like this...The value of it will decrease sometimes by 70 or 80 percent..i would take it to an antique dealer first and have it appraised..and ask them about refinishing...may I suggest also..when you ask a question here..and some of these people state they have done this or that for so many years...click on thier profile and check some other answers they have answered ..lol..I have seen some of these people a pro at things for so many years..that they would have to be 190 years old to do so...I hope I have that much energy when I am 190 years old!
Q:Last night my husband and I both fell asleep on the couch in our den around 10:30pm. everything was fine when we fell asleep but when i woke up at 5am on the couch and woke him to go up to bed, we walked out into the extended part of our living room and found a chair that was moved from one side of the room to right in front of the den door. we both swore to eachother that neither one of us moved it. it is just really freaking me out. what was it?
a ghost?
Q:I am wanting to purchase the Eames RAR rocking chair for my nursery, but cant afford the real thing. Does anyone know the best knock off version of it and the website to get it from? Thanks
Hello, okorder / they ship in north america Hope it helps :)
Q:I am designing a chair for a musician for a school project and have a few questions about the ergonomics of the chairs that musicians sit it while performing and practicing. a. How often (on average) do you practice/play per week? b. What is the proper posture for playing your instrument while sitting? c. Do you prefer to stand or sit when performing/practicing? Why? d. Do you have any physical ailments associated with sitting while playing your instrument? e. How does your seat position within an orchestral setting affect your playing? f. Do you have a favorite chair when practicing/playing? If so, what do you like about it? g. What do you like/not like about the chairs you are typically required to use? h. Would you consider buying a purposely-designed chair for playing if you knew it would help your performance and/or health? i. What characteristics would define an ideal musician’s seat for you and your instrument?
I play the flute, a. I play Monday through Friday for an hour with my school band, and about 30 minutes to an hour most evenings. b. Proper posture is to have both feet flat on the floor while sitting on the edge of the seat with a straight back. c. I prefer to stand when I'm playing by myself, because it makes breathing easier. d. If I have to hold my instrument up for a while, my arms ache, but it's nothing too major. e. The worst part about being a flute player is having to adjust for space and trying to hold the instrument around the chair. So we're constantly shifting, trying to get comfortable. f. The chair I like to use if I have to sit is a little taller and has a lower back. g. The chairs I have to use are generally hard plastic, which is uncomfortable, and they have high backs that are difficult to maneuver around. h. Yes I would. i. One with a lower back, so I could hold my instrument over it, and a little more suited to sitting for longer periods of time.
Q:(I know this is a stupid question.)I've got these folding chairs. There are 2 rods that meet to form the back of the chair. When unfolded, these 2 rods rest on these 2 plastic parts that are screwed by hand into 2 hollow tubes. The hollow tubes are the top of the chair's back legs.Through regular use, a person leans back in the chair. This action gently sands down the screw-like section of the plastic parts as it rubs against the hollow tube. Eventually, the screw-section is gone, the plastic part stops working and the chair is no longer safe for use.Where can I buy these plastic parts? Do these things have names?

Q:ok i know that the blood they cut themselves or something and stuff but what about getting hit with the chairis the chair fake or something?
i dont know where the first answer got her info saying the chairs are mad of plastic they are 100% metal but sometimes they are cemicalrized to make it thinner but they really are just metal chairs wrestling over exaggerate a bit by calling them steel chairs when ther actually metal
Q:I'm going to be building dining room chairs and am looking for sites with plans and drawings. Thanks.
1. Flat head Screwdriver 2. Staple Gun 3. 3/8' and 1/2 staples for that gun 4. small pliers (needle nose or regular ones) 5. Enough fabric to cover the chairs plus at least 3 for under the seat to attach it...(You will cut off any excess...yes waste, but if you do it too short...the first time...you waste time, and more fabric correcting the mistake 6. quilt batting (this will go over the existing cushion and the decorator or outer fabric will hold to it and this provides more cushion and bulk and prevents slipping of the Top fabric, also helps to cover the hard corners to prevent holes in the outer fabric. (Has many uses) The outer fabric will hide this as you cut this just big enough to cover the top, sides and maybe 1 1/2 for underneath the cushion. I have recovered my chairs with only a flat head screwdriver (to pull off or loosen the staples holding the present fabric) Needle nose pliers to pull out the staples. A good staple gun (not a NAIL gun) staples about 3/8' to 1/2 and this depends on the type of chair. I would get both to save a trip to the Hardware store later. And the other things I mentioned above...I hope I didn't leave anything out...I dont think so...(2 weekends ago I completely re-did 2 patio chairs seat and the back with new wood, Foam, Fabric, and covered them in clear Vinyl....They look great... Good Luck...it isn't hard..just take your time and measure 2-3 times writing down the measurements, and don't forget to add the underneath amount....
Q:My office chair smells very strongly.Kind of a farty/pooey smell.How do i clean it?Its tweed covered.
Well, they need washing too, like your pants. Problem is you can't throw them into the washer. It's a damp sponge, soapy water, immediately blot, repeat, repeat, repeat and leave for the weekend. Come back Monday and spray with Febreeze. Don't forget to wash the rest of the chair, any arm rests, they get sweaty too.
