- I would recommend stripping it and then cleaning off the stripper with soap water. Once the wood dries then finish sand the entire chair 180 grit should do fine. At that point depending on the natural color of the wood you could apply a neutral stain followed by a clear coat to protect the stain. If you need to paint to achieve the color then go to Lowe's or Home Depot and find a latex paint that is a suitable color.

- Damn, are instructors still asking students to build cardboard chairs. The opportunities are as limitless as your imagination. One option I've seen work is folding cardboard into triangular tubes and using that as a tripod. The sitting surface was a thick piece of cardboard cut and fastened to the top and two sides of the tripod making a hammock-like seat. Another project made a dinner-table style chair by rolling cardboard such that the corrugations were all vertical. Both the seat and back were made in this fashion. The seat could be curved and covered. Not using glue or tape is a new twist to this classic 'fun problem'. If you cut specially made holding pieces out of more cardboard, that should do the trick. - No. your your chair would ROLL Because you applied a force on the rope backward pushing chair with the same amount of force in forward direction and there is no other force except friction to stop the chair which is not enough hence you would go forward. force applied on the rope only cancels out. you can assume you(on a wheel chair) pulls a rope fixed to tree at other end. This would also give same result. Hope this would help you.!!!!!!
- Q: These are from Germany. They are like a Spongy Foam material but the previous owners cats tore into them so they have these marks across them. It reminds me of when you take your nail and run it over a Styrofoam cup. I love the shape and modernness but I need a color change (4 dark blue, 2 yellow)! I have priced new chairs and its just not doable for what I desire. I have No clue what would be under the sponge as I would have to basically gut one and then Im lost on how to fix the mess I made! Some ideas on what I can use and how to go about doing so. Im scared it will just soak it in.

- I gave up on my kneeling chair last year. I tried the ball chair also, and it was about the same. I finally bought a standard desk chair which was designed to support the lower back. I trained myself to sit with my back snugly against the back support and my feet strait down at a 90 degree angle. Then I limited my desk work time to 30 minute intervals, taking a 5 minute break between, in which I would walk around. My back problems have been mostly eliminated. My opinion, for what it's worth is that the Ball Chair and the Kneeling Chair are not the answer to solving low back pain.
