Q: i bought HID lights for my bfs 1996 honda civic for $100 bucks. The instillation fee is also $100. is it worth it or should i attempt to put them in myself? the auto stoore said i shouldnt have trouble trying to do this but on one of my other questions i asked about how to do this myself, somone posted that it is unsafe or impossible to do this ? i am unsure -_-: Patch it with an oversize patch (a boot) about 25 bucks

Q: My AC went out, and a few days later my emissions light came on. It‘s making a whining chuga-chuga-chuga sound when I crank it up, that gets quieter as I drive. I tried adding freon to fix the AC problem, but it hasn‘t helped. It blows warm, but still works, btw. Could these 2 problems be related? Anyone have any idea what‘s going on with it?: They're probably coincidental. Most AC systems fail because of leaks in seals, not because of mechanical failure, and putting in more freon won't do any good if it just leaks out. New seals are fairly cheap, and readily available at any auto parts store, but the system should have a dye in it that can be seen with an ultraviolet light to pin point the leak. It shouldn't be a big deal to fix. If the emissions light turned on, there's probably a trouble code stored on the computer, which can be read with any code reader. It's very likely to be for a bad oxygen sensor or two. Again, not a big deal to fix.

I am an auto technician. I just wanted to give you some info on your problem. Depending on the vehicle, this code typically means the secondary air pump is not working, or more realistically, the computer does not THINK it is working. The air pump is an electric pump that supplies fresh air into the exhaust system to reduce emissions. There are several possibilities here that could be causing this. For example, the pump could be bad, the fuse for the pump can be blown, the electrical relay could be bad, the hoses from the pump to the exhaust could be broken or cracked, or a bad wiring connection anywhere in the circuit. My point is this. Your best bet is to get this addressed at a reputable repair shop, that specializes in drivability and diagnostics. Auto Zone may be good at some things, NONE of these is diagnosing cars!!! It is not likely the air filter itself could be causing this problem. The air filter is the part that catches the dirt in the air that is entering the engine. Some vehicles take the air for the air pump after the air filter so if the filter is plugged, or coming apart this may cause an issue, but that is doubtful. The filter should be replaced about every 15000 miles or so. Hopefully this gives you a better idea on what is going on. If you have anymore questions, just let me know. Good luck.

Q: hi, I have this problem with my car, it‘s an EB falcon 93 model and my problem is the alternator ain‘t charging the battery, so we went out and bought a new battery and alternator and still have the same problem, we disconnected the sterio because we thought that might be the probnlem but it ain‘t at all. so we come to a conclusion and also we seeked advice from an auto electreician and he said it might be the charging system fuse/relay now my problem is i dont know were that is on the car at all, there are some relays under the steering whell,under the bonnet beside the battery and also some at the back of the battery. i was wondering mif anyone could mtell me were that specific relay/fuse is located.thanks!!: i used too tune cars on a dyno jet.dynotrust me ld air intakes only gain from 4-9 hp on most cars is it worth tha moneynot reallycold air induction system wuz originally designed for race carsand brands dnt really matter because in the long run the design of tha intake is wut mattersif u decide too get one or find oneyou must get a header and exhaust and a fuel management system in order to get the most out of itgood luck!

Q: So the past couple of days I have been driving my car with the check engine light on. I know, I should have gotten it checked out and it was stupid to keep driving like that. But it was working fine until this morning! I went out to start my car before school and it wouldn‘t start! I put the key in the ignition and the lights and radio and everything work just fine. I turned the key and the car makes these sounds like fast continuous gun shots going off for 2 or 3 seconds. Every light on the dash turns on and then they all just turn off. I don‘t think it‘s a problem with the battery because the lights and everything are working okay. I just don‘t want to go to a shop to get it looked at because I don‘t have that kind of money right now. If someone could give me an idea of what they think is going on I‘d really appreciate it. I‘ll choose best answer.: The gun shots you here is the starter bendix engaging and disengaging because of a low or near dead battery. The yellow check engine light may be a coincidence without knowing the trouble code. Check the battery connections. If they are clean and tight, have the battery itself checked. You can remove the battery and bring it into any of the larger auto box stores to have it checked. If all is good, put the battery back in, get a boost and get the charging system checked.

Q: A 2000 year model is serviced by two auto technicians. The abs warning light has been activated for the anti l?: abs system is the ani locking brakes. and if the tech's that worked on it did any wheel work to it and unplugged it it will go on.. my suggestion is to take it back to the person that worked on it and tell them that it wasn't on when you brought it is and make them fix it on their dime..
