Q: i have 1998 Saturn and the orange engine light is on and wont go off. i just got the oil changed so its not that and the engine cap is on tight i just checked. i am going to have it checked out as soon as possible but i need my car for work. what else can that light mean?: Some of the engine maintenance lights need to reset as the car gets service. Q: I have a 2000 honda accord ex and the check engine light is on, i took it to advanced auto and they couldnt find the code but a few days later i took it back because it was still on on they said something about a o2 sensor or circuit then a couple days later i took it to the dealer i bout it from and they couldnt find the code what should i do cuz i have to take the car in for emissions: You will need to have the converter replaced. The cat code is po420 or po430. You cannot just re-set the light and go through smog test, the code will be stored in the computer. There is no way around passing until you replace the converter and turn the light off. Also, nobody uses a tailpipe tester on a 2000 year vehicle, all they do is hook up a scanner and read for codes.

Q: 2000 Pontiac grand am 2.4 automaticbattery light came on while driving. took battery and alt to Autozone. alt tested good. battery tester not working. warrantied battery anyway. so, good alt and new battery. checked for loose/bad connection. all seem fine.when I start car in the morning I can drive 10 min the the battery light comes on. I can accelerate 1500+ rpms and light goes off but back yo idle the battery light comes back on.too car to orilleys auto and had them test on car. battery good. alt diodes good. receiving low voltage at 11.78. was told alt bad???? was it a bad bench test or is could there be something else???: Is the belt tight enough ? After 12 years the belt may be due for replacement.

Insufficant flow means that what the computer expects to see is not actually happening. The EGR port maybe clogged or the valve is stuck closed or an electrical problem has occured.Repair cost about $400.

I think it might be illegal to tamper with your lights, but maybe that's only in Canada. But I imagine any shop that can install a car alarm could help you. ...for maybe $400. NAPA or some auto parts store might have some module you can just solder in but it's unlikely.
