Q:I am looking for chair cover rentals for my wedding reception. What is the going rate for a standard solid color chair cover with a bow tied around the back? Just wondering what we should expect to pay and if they are worth the extra cost.
I live in the south and I'm paying $4 per chair (I say south because I'm confident it varies by region). That's $2 for the cover and $2 for the sash. If your wedding is large enough, it might be worth it for you to purchase the chair covers at a wholesale store. There's a few great places online. Hope that helps.
Q:My husband has a little rocking chair that was his as a child. It is made of wood and originally had a wicker seat which broke and has since been removed. I would like to refinish it and replace the wicker seat. Any suggestions on how to do this? I don't know where I would even buy wicker material...Thanks for any help!
Since it is child size, you might consider weaving a seat out of jute rope or a smoother type of rope. It's probably a square shape and all you have to do is weave the rope over and under, first on one side, then the other; similar to making a potholder on a loom. There would probably be online instructions, if you search for 'do it yourself chair seat weaving,' or check youtube for videos. Looking around online might give you ideas for other materials, besides rope; you'll also see suppliers of materials listed. Good luck! (My dad enjoyed weaving chair seats for a hobby.)
Q:we have these leather chairs in my kitchen and my cat always jumps on the back of this one to get on top of our water cooler cause she likes it up there or whateveranyone know what i could do to like make her stop, cause i have a pillow case over it right now, but that defeats the purpose of having a nice leather chair
Teaching a cat not to scratch or jump on the kitchen counter is different from trying to teach a cat not to use something as a stepping stool to get from point A to point B. Anything you do will defeat the purpose unless you teach the cat to not get on the water cooler OR provide the cat with something else to step on. Cats generally know and understand when they are doing something wrong because they will do it on purpose if you are in the room. Like if a cat knows they are not allowed to scratch on the rug, they will act like they are going to do it just so you will come and pay attention to them (our cats do this all the time). You can do a spray bottle to keep the cat from jumping on the cooler since you do not want to put anything on your nice chairs. Spray bottles with water work remarkably well because most cats hate it. We also use an air can duster and puff it into the air because the noise scares them. We had a cat that was jumping on our antique piano as a means of getting onto the built in book shelf that had nothing on it. After the spray bottle worked at getting her off the piano, she decided to just use the front of the book case as a set of stairs to get to the top shelf - which was a disaster. We had to spray bottle for like a whole month to rid the cat of both the piano and the shelf. We also got her her own little shelf in the window so she would not try to get up there anymore.
Q:I can snowboard perfectly fine down the slopes, I have no problem with balance or turning or anything like that. But every single time I get off of a chair lift I eat s**t. I try and do everything the people tell me, I even got a grip on my board but my boots slips right off, and my board is shiny which again makes it super slippery. I have tried putting my foot against the back binding but again my foot just slips out of position as soon as my board touches down on the snow ramp thing.! In the end I had to ask the guy to stop the chair lift and let me off so I didnt injury myself some more. Please help we are going up again in a few weeks and I dont wanna stack every time. Thanks any help is appreciated.
Try halfway sticking your boot in the straps like how someone wears a shoe while stepping on the heel part, wearing it like a slipper. Try to hook your free foot on some loop (probably the backstrap). One thing that'll really help is if you tighten your front foot(the one that's strapped in)'s ankle muscles, that'll make the back more rigid and easier to work with. You could also try to lean backwards a little, so that you have more weight on the back foot, planting it in place. While riding up the lift, right before, knock off excess snow so that you decrease chance of slipping. Good luck.
Q:what type of chair would be best...a soft, cushiony chair, or a hardwood chair?
I think it would depend on how long I was going to be there for, I don't want to get a sore bum. and a hardwood chair might dig into other parts of the body?
Q:I have a single chair that has been in the family forever. There is a piece of paper glued to the bottom indicating it was produced sometime around 1750. the name Armstrong is stamped into the bottom of the chair. I am looking for any information on this particular chair or manufacturer.
is it African wood? Is it upholstered?? If so, it could be worth about $500+ depending on the condition - try eBay or goggle to see if you can find any antique dealers, or call your local antique shops, If it's an Armstrong chair, it's worth something - if the paper is a signature, it's probably made by the craftsman whose name was Armstrong - Is it a scrolly stamp?
Q:I'm looking for a comfy lime green chair that I can just have in my room to lounge on. I saw the perfect one on Bones. I found something like it called the Roundabout Low Circle Chair but that's too expensive. Any suggestions would be great! : )

Q:How to draw a manga of a teen transforming into a car, jacket, or chair? I am drawing a manga for a friend of mine and need to draw a transformation sequence for the story. Its a story similer to Harry Potter about a school of wizards. He wants me to draw a picture of a boy being transformed or morphed into a chair and another boy transforming into a jacket (I think a sports jacket).
Did he said turn into completely inanimate objects? Okay... Whooboy...I just imagine something ugly... You sure this part ain't horror? You know what a soft rubber is?
Q:I have some oak dining room chairs and a few are getting wobbly. Should I take them apart and re-glue them or will that make it worse. What should I do?
Yes take them apart and use wood clue and let stand for atleast 24 hours before you use them.
Q:It is going to be lounging chair, for T.V. or something, though I am going to glue pieces of styrofoam together, then carve it out...with my *** grove, and maybe a cup holder or something...Though I have questions....1. I know styrofoam is not always going to be the strongest thing, so what should I use to re-enforce the strenght of this chair? Wood, or some sort of plaster?(Did I mention that I wanted to cover it with some sort of hardening agent?)2. What types of insulation should I use? (I was thinking of something that is comfy, though does not have much resestance...like it would embrace the but, not push it back. Possibly foam with an over coating of fluff...or something.)3. Outer fabric, What feels comfortable? Fake leather? or something?...4. What is a cool accesory to a chair(i.e. cup holder, Compass)You don't have to answer all the questions, you can answer one....Though I want some ideas or something...
The fact that most people call it a chair! but if you want we can open a new web site and send messages to people all over the world not to call it a chair anymore. we could even ask the goverment to step in saying that the word chair is very rude and it would be politcally incorrect to use that word ever again. But i can guarentee that someone somewhere would still call it a chair. Thats what makes it a chair!!!
