Make sure the top of the table is wood and not a veneer-if it is you'll have to sand carefully. The chairs, I don't know what they look like but I have never been successful at sanding them, I use stripper, put coffee cans down and put the chair legs in it, then paint the stripper on.

It kind of looks like a reproduction from the picture but it's hard to tell without seeing it in the flesh so to speak. Value depends on so many things.
