- Q: i'm trying to make my bearings as fast as possible by cleaning them constantly with simple tissue paper...turns out it does not work to good. there are no skate shops in my area,(southeast texas) so i would like to know if there are any type of cleanser/lube product that i could find in my counter or at a wall-mart. thank you.rules:don't say google it.
- Clean with denatured alcohol - available at hardware stores Lube with Tri-Flow - bike shops and some hardware stores.
- Q: I've cleaned my 5000-C but the spool doesn't let line on unless you pull even with everything turned to the lowest. Im trying to figure out if the inside has bearing because the bar in the spool doesn't come out at all. Is this normal or is it suppose to come out once you remove the white gear? Need help asap... I've got two other Ambassadeurs and would love to use the 5000-C as another go to reel. Thanks!!!
- the only bearings on the 5000C are the ones at the ends of the spool shaft. one external, underneath the tension adjustment cap and the other inside the opposite sideplate, held in place by a small metal clip. *the only BALL bearings. other turning contact points have bushings which to a nit picker, are, in fact, bearings.
- Q: I have a 1990 240sx that has an Sr20det motor. I was driving home one day and about 15 minutes from home my engine started sounding like marbles. When I got home after only 15 minutes of it sounding like that I turned it off and removed the oil pan and there were definitely pieces of rod bearing in it. My question is, after driving for only 15 minutes home, could it have more damage than just the bearings?
- definately. your rods are probably bad or bent pistons may have scored the walls at an angle cuz the rods wernt straight due to the bearings,ect. time for a total rebuild or another engine.

- You will want to make sure that your bearings are placed correct in your wheels and when you tighten the bolts down do not tighten too much. you wil actually want a tiny bit of slack in between your nuts and bearings as funny as that sounds. this will allow your wheels to roll more freely. If bearings are new the should sound fairly smooth but they take a while to break in. New Bone Reds are fast enough to where you wont need any lubricant but if you really must dont use any crap like wd40. actually get something worth your while
- Q: I cant put them in! I can only put it on succesfully on the inside of the wheel. The bearing wont go in the outside of the wheel(the logo side). just saying i use the method where you put it on the truck axis and press down with your wheel
- Do what i do put in the bearing and push it in slightly with your fingers. Then get a screw driver turn it upside down (sharp side facing up) get a hammer and gently nail it in it will stay in and shouldnt even be dented or scrached!

- wheel bearings on that truck are sealed.....When they go bad, you replace the bearing/hub as an assembly.....They should last at least 100,000 miles if truck is not treated roughly....I owned a 2000 Silverado that had 146,000 miles on it when I traded it in....and still had the original wheel bearings on it and they were still in good shape.

- bones swiss are obviously the best, but theyre also around $50 a pop. if you want to spend less money, i would go with bones reds or fkd. i've used both, and theyre definitely good. the only ones you really shouldnt get, are lucky.

No, radial bearings do not allow motion along the axis - normally there is a stop on the shaft to prevent this and continuous movement would damage the inner surface of the race or the shaft. Depending on the type of race, having any significant axial force would damage the bearing, as would occur in moving the shaft axially. Thrust bearings in theory are entirely for taking thrush along the axis and properly positioned radial bearings handle the radial forces of belts, chains, wheels, etc. A roller bearing or taper bearing would be used to handle both in one location. In practice, a thrust bearing with a ball race of the right shape will handle radial forces of a significant fraction of the rated thrust.

- I used 50% Vaseline and 50% graphite. Worked great as I used my boat in salt water. I use to carry a spare set of bearings when towing my boat. A failed wheel bearing can stop you just as easily as a flat tire.
