Specifications:
Needle Roller Bearings (needle bearing) is a cylindrical roller with roller
bearings, relative to its diameter, roller both thin and long. This is called needle
roller. Despite having a smaller cross-section, has a higher load bearing capacity
equipped with a thin and long needle bearing roller (roller diameter D≤5mm,
L / D≥2.5, L is the length of the roller), so radial structure is compact, its
diameter size and load capacity and other types of bearings, minimum diameter, especially for radial dimensions limited support structure.

- Q: Long story short. I bought a truck and i'm replacing the brake rotors, calipers, pads because they are bad. Should I replace the wheel bearings while i'm at it since their already out? What is the average life of wheel bearings and how much should they cost (without labor, since i'm doing it myself).
- to the best of my knowledge, you don't really need to if they are original, in good condition. the thing is, can you check and verify the condition of the wheel bearings? just because you are taking everything else in that department out, shouldn't mean you have to replace the bearings as well. BUT, if you want, if the truck has high mileage, by all means go for it. after everything's done, you might want to do an alignment job.
- Q: my car recently (2 weeks ago started making a knocking noise like a chatter and i hear it coming from the engine. my mechanic said my main bearings are failing. he says the engine will last a couple years if i use a heavier weight oil. 2 years seems long. is that right?
- It sounds resonable but other than the how else did he verify that the bearings are failing? Main Bearing Noise. A loose main bearing produces a dull knock heard every other revolution when the engine is under heavy load. If all main bearings are loose, a loud clatter will be heard. Low oil pressure can also accompany this condition. Causes that can produce a knock in tight bearings are oil that is too thin, or no oil at the bearing. Do you have low oil pressure? Have you ever run the engine low on oil? I would try the heavier oil before doing any other work.
- Q: I'm getting some ABEC 5 bearings, but I don't know if I need them sealed or shielded. Right now I'm a beginner so I'm just cruising with the occasional hill if that makes a difference in what I need.
- Some people mistakenly call shields as seals. No one actually uses seals on skates or boards, they create too much drag. If the drag wasn't there, they would be great since they would actually keep water out. It doesn't matter if you get bearings with metal shields or the neoprene coated ones (more likely to be mistakenly called seals. The neoprene ones are all removable for cleaning and lubricating. Most metal shields are removable but occasionally you find non serviceable bearings that have shields that are permanently staked in place. With some work, you can remove the shields on non serviceable bearings by destroying one of them. You only need one shield that is the side of the bearing you see from the outside.
- Q: I have 8 bearings like any other skateboard. all 8 are crappy because my bro takes it out in the rain. Damn. And one of the 8 is all smashed up(long story). So im riding to school and when at fast speed it starts to wobble ALOT even on flat smooth ground. Would buying new red bone bearings fix this?thanks
- Actually, any bones bearings would help. Bones are one the best bearings on the market, they range up to 10-100 dollars. But use bones reds, they're inexpensive and great
- Q: I have a 100 dollar budget on either trucks bearings or wheels. I have been riding my long board for a while but I dont really know to much on how most of the parts work. I want my longboard to go faster and stay fast for a while without slowing down. Should I buy new bearings or trucks. I have a sector 9 bob marley pintail longboard with bone reds trucks. If I buy knew bearings or trucks do I have to buy new wheels as well. But If I had to pick either buying new bearings or new trucks which one would be best for my longboard. thanks
- If you have $100 you can seriously buy both. But if you are looking for longer roll time, bearings are what you need. NEVER SPEND A LOT OF BEARINGS!!! Bearings should never cost more than $15. If you get a good set of bearings and keep them cleaned and lubed when needed, there will be no difference between $100 bearings and $10 bearings. I recommend MileHighSkate or Magic bearings if you can get them. They are high quality and $9. If not, Bone Reds are easy to find, but arent as nice and cost $15. I also HIGHLY recommend you get bearing spacers. They are $5 and go inside your bearings and allow you to tighten your wheels all the way, giving you a smoother ride. You should also have speed rings too (those 8 rings that come with your current trucks). Trucks will not help you go faster.
- Q: okay...lemme explain...i have an experiment in my criminalistics class on improvised weaponry and I figured, hey, stupid...(that's me) this sounds like a great(dangerous and stupid, with potential for serious bodily harm) idea. Gee, wonder what would happen if I do it?(most likely,PAIN.)how much damag would this cause to a human body? car? building, such as a wood shed(mine)....can this be done? will it destroy my(roommates, cause I sure as hell wont do it to mine!) gun? anyone know how quickly the ball bearings would come out? damage they'd inflict/ etc?any help would be enormously appreciated!
- Use marbles. im positive they wont mess up the gun, just make sure they're the right size. And I'm sure that it will hurt like crap. I did it and it busted ahole in my freakin' fence.
- Q: I am replacing the wheel bearings on the front axle of my 98 cherokee and I want to know if the Timkin brand wheel bearings for $150 each autozone will make a difference over the valucraft ones for $99 each. Is it worth the extra $50?
- Timkin bearings are considered top notch in the bearing field. Most of your major industry in the US use timkin bearings. Try the others anyway, chances are, you'll never have to replace them again as long as you own the vehicle.
- Q: is it cheaper to fix it or replace?
- It depends on what type of platform pedal it is. If they are the basic plastic type, the bearings in the pedal are sealed - When they've worn out (when that happened to my bike pedals they were probably a bit rusty?), it's time for a new set of pedals. If they are the slightly more expensive (usually alloy) pedals, the bearings are not sealed - so they are able to be replaced and therefore the pedals have a much longer life-span. If you do need new pedals, it would be worthwhile upgrading to the pedal type meantioned above, because at least those bearings can be maintained regreased when required. Though if in doubt, ask your local bicycle mechanic. Prices - it depends on what part of the world you live, others here might be a more in the know. A quick look in your local bike or even sports shop would be a good idea.
- Q: ok ever one says bone swiss bearings spin for ever!!! well i just got a brand new. apsolotly fresh out of the case bones bearings and i put em on my board and they only spin for 12 seconds!! when i skate with them will that losen em up?? if you have bones bearings, how long do yours spin? and how do i make em faster
- 12 seconds isn't long enough for you? Thats plenty of free spin. did you turn the wheel nut a 1/4 turn back, most people do this now and you won't need to use the spacers then. You need to ride them and see how they ride. I've never had a problem with bones swiss bearings.
- Q: im buying a set for 16.95 and want to know
- probably bones reds. bones has been making bearings almost as long as skateboarding has been around. and all that abec measurement stuff is all bull poop they are just measuring how long and how fast a bearing will spin for on some metal pole they aren't measuring it under pressure and the conditions of when your actually riding so go with the bones
