Q: I have replaced the wheel bearings twice in 3 months now its going bad again....i didnt change the hub.Should i have done so.it looked a little grinded up on the inside.: you shld replace the hub as well.Proper adjustment on bearing clearance and sufficient grease is important.

Q: plz answer if you have a skateboard and understand the difference: z bearings. first clean them with goo be gone and then denature alcohal in a container you can shake em up real good. before cleaning take shields off. finish with two drops of bones speed cream. or get bones red bearings since they don't have that heavy grease in them.

Q: ok I took apart my bearings, cleaned the shields with water, put about 2 drops of lube in each after letting the bearings sit in a 50% alcohol solution for 10 minutes, put it all back together after drying off the stuff and lubing it. Just rode it today and it seems that the bearngs are making noise.... is this normal???: the proper way to clean bearing is to soak them in karosene and then pack them w lube/ grease the alchol proally dried em out

Q: I took my 2001 lincoln ls V8 into get the engine checked it needs work done, which is expensive, which i knew it would be. They checked my front sway bar which is broken and needs replaced.. but they took it upon themselves to check all my wheel bearings, and they are now telling me i need to replace all of them! cause my bearings or hub is loose.....but i don't notice anything odd or any noise when i drive... they say it will cost almost 2400 $ to replace cause they have to buy the whole kit set up and cant buy just the piece.... does this have any truth to it? any advice is appreciated: Wow that does sound like alot for some wheel bearings to tell you the truth they but for that ls I dont know they could cost a pretty penny and might take alot of work but I really never seen a wheel bearing that was hard to replace so go to your local parts store and price out wheel bearings and see what they come to

Q: I need to get my honda aquatrax trailer's bearings greased up and I'm no handy man. I don't know if the PWC (jet ski) dealer (also a motorcycle dealer) would be willing to do it or if i have to go to a car mechanic.: your marine service shop should be up to the task of maintaining your marine trailer too. if they arent, you shouldnt be going to that shop to begin with. any normal car mechanic should be able to handle it too. its actually a very easy job, if you dont mind getting grease on your hands. wheel bearings are wheel bearins are wheel bearings..... and there are also places that deal more specifically with trailers. they would be able to handle your marine trailer maintence too. i would suggest you add a set of bearing buddy caps to your shopping list for parts. they have a fitting on them that allows you to pump grease into them without popping them off. and a spring that forces the grease through the bearings and out the wheel seal (if over pumped you will ruin the wheel seal). just pull off a little plastic cap, check that the spring is half compressed and you will have no bearing worries ever again. if the spring is ever getting relaxed, pull out the grease gun and give it a few pumps. bearing buddy caps claim to be a final solution to keeping the bearings full of grease and working properly. IF used properly and kept full, that claim is true.

Ride what you have until you know why you need a new part. If you do not know why you are getting it, then you dont need it. If you are to get new bearings, NEVER spend extra on expensive bearings! $10 or $15 would be the most I would ever buy. One you know that cheap bearings from good brands are better than those expensive Bones bearings, then you will never buy expensive ones again. If you need new bearings get Magic, MileHighSkate, or DBS bearings for $9. They are double sealed, and work great. All bearings will spin the same as long as they are cleaned and lubed when needed. Never use WD-40 as a lube! If you ever want need wheels, look at brands such as Abec11, Nersh, Cult, Metro, Sector 9 Race Formula, Seismic, Earthwing, Venom, Gravity, and Landyachtz.
