- Q: It is for a 2000 Buick Centry. Please seperate labor and parts. Thanks!
- we could desire to renowned the motor vehicle style, 365 days and style. Tie rod ends cost me around $30.00 each and every. a clean tire rim if that's steel fees $75.00. If that's a production facility aluminum, they run $200.00 and up, - way up! The exertions fee at a production facility dealership is around $80.00 according to hour. it will take one hr. to slap on a pair of tie rod ends. Now the plot thickens. whilst tie rods are replaced the toe, caster and camber could be checked on an alignment device. no longer many places examine toe in basic terms. an entire alignment fees $80.00. The toe adjustment is to confirm the two front wheels are element forward in a wonderfully parallel place. those days toe is desperate in stages rather of inches. out of your description, apparently you hit something. i could easily have your automobile 4 wheel aligned so which you will no longer grub and scuff off your tires.
- Q: For a 2005 Ford Mustang GT? Garage telling me mine are bad and are wanting to charge me $2000. They also said my muffler charging valve is acting up as well.
- sounds reasonable, you may wanna upgrade to sealed/lubed for life return bearings so you dont have to lube them every 10,000 miles, also look for at least 8 ball return bearings. The muffler charging valve is a known problem if i remember there is either a recall or a tsb (technical service bulletin) for that .you may be able to get the valve replaced free. i would try for the freebie for sure.
- Q: I got this bones bearing cleaner kit and now all I need is the cleaner. I want a cheap cleaner that doesn't ruin the bearings. Thanks.
- If okorder . EDIT: no, WD40 will not ruin the bearings, and is perfectly fine to use.
- Q: i just found my skateboard after about 5 years and two of the wheels are rusted and wont move. im working on replacing the wheels and bearings, but the two rusted wheels still wont come off i was able to get the bolt off of one and it now spins, but thats about it. its been soaking in coke all week and i bought wd-40 today and used that.
- buy new one if rusted - you don't ride it - so buy new one let it rust to
- Q: Sup guys, first new thread. Anyways,i have a 2004 Honda 400ex. I noticed the other day that when i get on it and rock from side to side (stationary with engine off) the axle stays still but the rest of the quad moves and clicks sort of. It moves up and down, but not very much from side to side. Probably 1/16 side to side. And about 1/4 to 1/2 up and down. I tried tightening the jam nut or whatever its called (the left hand thread. I dont know as tht i tightened it right). But that did nothing. My rotor also moves front and. Back. I was told i need carrier bearings. I hope not because its wednesday and i have. Planned riding trip this weekend. If it is bearings, can i just tighten the nut and ride, then replace it?
- it sounds like carrier bearings. keep your chain adjusted slightly tighter than usual. you can run it some with it that way. stay out of the mud! if you're going for a looong trail ride, you should replace them. also know that if you let them go too long it gets real expensive when you eat into that carrier housing!!! i've ridden many miles on bad bearings, you just have to watch them close and run a bit easier than normal. if at all possible change them before your ride, other wise go easy, have fun!!
- Q: I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima Se, when i jack tha car up (on the driver side) my wheel is loose, obvisouly with the lug nuts screwed all tha way in, i talked to a few people, but they sed it could be my Wheel Hub or my bearings, i don't know, i just don't wanna get robed blind, wat would be a reasonable amount of money + labor to fix either tha hubs or tha bearings on tha one side???
- Jack the car up and put it on a stand. Put one hand on the top and one hand on the bottom of the tire and try to move it up and down, if there is paly, odds are that youru wheel bearing is shot. As has been said, and I agree that the bearings are part of the hub assembly, a little more expensive, but actually, less hassle to replace. If there is no play, put one hand on the left side and the other on the right, and try to move it from side to side, if there is excessive play, then start looking at the tie rods, steering racks (if it has rack and pinion steering), etc.
- Q: 2005 Sport Trac, 2WD, automatic trans w/ aprox 80K milesA few months ago there was a grinding sound from the rear of the truck that increased with speed (a whomb, whomb, whomb type sound) and even a clicking when I reversed. I was doing my breaks and noticed there was some play in the wheel when pushing/pulling but also that when I turned the wheel (both wheels up and trans in neutral) there was some side to side play (not sure if that is normal or not). Also when driving the truck slowly wobbles at low speeds and begins to shake at higher speeds. I noticed that this isn't constant and seems to greatly reduce after a left hand turn. One place told me it was the differential but I am not sure and don't want to spend a bunch of money if it's a bearing as I can replace the assembly myself for under $200.
- Sounds like outer wheel bearings but it could be the differential bearings as well. The only way to know is replace the wheel bearings and see if the noise stops. I'd check the gear oil level as well since if you were low on oil that would kill the bearings and the differential. If it's low make sure you add the specific kind for your axle.
- Q: rollerblades btwi got water on them and then they were total slow, ive done the white spirit to get rid of all the grease and lubed them with 3in1 oil, will they be fast againsbtw, any1 who says wd40 im gonna report you because that completely ***** your wheels.cheers
- Probably not. Water tends to ruin bearings. Once rust starts, it can='t be stopped without damaging the bearings. Get new ones. Try Bones Reds. 2 boxes for recreational skates, one for aggressive.
- Q: How do I take a front rims bearings so i can put it in another rim? If your wondering what type of rim for the bike its for bmx bikes. Thanks
- You'll need a tool called a slide hammer and the proper associated fittings to remove rim bearings. Personally, I wouldn't reuse bearings that were removed. These are often cheap enough to just purchase new without worry that soon you'll be replacing them soon. Since you're dealing with bicycle bearings, they're going to be pretty cheap. Industrial and vehicle related bearings will cost more. The slide hammer attachement basically grabs the bearing pack from the inside diameter where the shaft would slide through. the attachment is connected to the slide hammer. you hold the rim down and slide the hammer weight towards you or upwards in a fast motion.
- Q: I have a CR80, when i sit on the bike somtimes i will hear a cracking noise. If i put the bike on a stand (with back wheel off the ground) I can move the swingarm up and down without the shock moving. So my final guess would be shot bearings?? So is this, Linkage, are swingarm bearings? Its a 2000 model and is changing these bearing hard, Im a beginner by the way. Thanks!
- take the bike to the honda shop and let them fix it. you do not have knowledge or the tools to fix it. also do not ride the bike until you get it fixed.
