- If you are s street skater, then avoid ceramic bearings. They are designed for longboards, and can;t withstand the shock of landing, especially stairs. ABEC ratings are meaningless for skateboards they don't indicate speed or appropriateness for bearings. So... I;d go with the Swiss bearings. I prefer Pig Swiss, but have had good luck with Bones Swiss and Black Panther Swiss, but the Pigs need less frequent cleaning and maintainance than the Bones or Panthers. If you don;t want to spend the money, go with the Bones Reds, they are a high quality bearing at a great price, made to the same specs as the swiss bearings at 1/3 of the price.

- you shouldn't be riding in the water and that will ruin all bearings and make them rust. The Bones are faster but if you are going to ruin 100+ $$$ bearings just get Sector 9 greaseball bearings.
- Q: Im just wondering how important it is to clean and regrease a cars wheel bearing. Working as a bicycle mechanic, this is something I do on a daily basis to every other bike we work on. And so Ive always wondered why I dont hear about wheel bearing going out on cars, or why I dont hear about having them serviced...Im assuming they are sealed bearings, but still it seems like they should need serviced every so often. I drive an early 90s ford truck, nothing fancy. Is this something I should consider doing, or should I not worry about it unless they start making noise?Thanks!
- you rarely hear them going out on cars because most of the time the symptom gets disguised by worn brakes, when its the wheel bearing your brakes will get worn quicker, if you have a hub rotor designed for brakes then every time someone takes out the rotor they should have cleaned and repacked that rotor. if you have a floating rotor the bearings are pressed in and not really practical for servicing

- all skateboard bearings will work, any swiss rated bearing will work best, they'll last longer and ride smoother. abec isn't a true rating for skate bearings so you cannot really go by that, abec 3's could be better than abec 7's you just never know what you're going to get. I like all bones brands even their cheaper reds are great. Any swiss brand is good.

- Three figure bearings are really quite straightforward in that it simply means that all bearings are measured clockwise from North. Examples N 35 ° E = 035 ° SW = 225 °
- Q: Car has been in the shop since last week. They've ordered the bearing according to catalog, and its wrong - so they say the spindle has been changed apparently..however my brother in law says the bearings come with numbers imprinted on them which should make it easy to replace. The garage lady says Hyundai bearings don't come with numbers...anyway, they are down to the last bearing Hyundai makes and we are waiting for that part to come and hoping it is correct....I am wondering if this is just totally nuts or does this sound correct? - Get the bearing and look for yourself. Go to auto parts store and ask them for a front wheel bearing for your vehicle. Look it up online at Auto Zone. com.There are a number of ways to find out. Get out of there and find a shop that knows what they are doing. Why are they working on the wheels to repair an alternator. Sounds like you are getting ripped.
- Q: So i just bought some sector 9 ABEC 7 bearings. Is it ok if i buy the speed cream lubricant, take the bearings appart, and apply the lub without cleaning them? They are Like less then a week old (the bearings).
- First off, they are a downhill bearing, if your street or vert skating i recumbent independent 7's. Second, speed cream is only really necessary when your bearings start to wear down and start to slow and make that horrible noise. if you put it in straight away it won't do much but collect dirt. so just wait a while.
